Thanks Clinique, for bringing us such an elegant looking holiday fragrance to admire. I have yet to try Aromatics Elixir Perfume ($65), but what I can tell you is that the gold and floral atomizer it comes in is gorgeous.
The fragrance isn't new, but this limited-edition packaging is, and from what I hear, the scent is charming, woodsy, floral, and extremely appealing to the masses.
The perfume contains notes of oakmoss, patchouli, rose essence, sandalwood, chamomile, jasmine, muguet, patchouli, musk, vetiver, amber and ylang-ylang.
I prefer to smell perfumes myself before I buy them for others, but the mass appeal mixed with the pretty bottle sounds like it's the perfect present for a luxe lady. I'm really excited to check it out the next time I pass by a Clinique counter. How does it sound to you?

3I agree with pennylane. It is very dense, cluttered, and mixed with moth balls reminds me of grandmothers!!
Get a sample; don't waste your money. NOTHING like Clinique Happy, which I adore.
4I loved this years ago, but then switched to other scents. Seriously get a sample, it's pretty strong and I think you either love it or hate it. Maybe with the new pretty bottle I'll give it another try

6I used to work at Clinique..and all I can say is that this scent makes me want to Ralph now. WAY too strong/old ladyish for me!
7I swear its the packaging. How many times have we heard people say, "we eat with our eyes first!"? In this case we buy without really realizing if or do we want it. It might smell good...
8Its a very old perfume my mom has worn it for 15 plus years. It is positively vile. Honestly it makes me ill. **shiver**

11I smelled it on a stranger once and it smells exactly like my mom's favorite perfume, which was discontinued a long time ago. She buys it in masses whenever she happens to stumble upon a supply. I think I might have to get her this. I forget the name of her perfume but it was a french brand in a clear bottle with a deep green cap...Called Coriander or something like that.

13What everyone has said so far is true. Aromatics Elixir is a very old smelling fragrance. My mom says it's a dead ringer for a fragrance from her childhood called "Pink Sweets."
14i'm not a fan of the packaging actually - besides the atomizer. then again, i'm in the minority cuz i don't like floral scents; hence the flower on the bottle isn't a huge plus.

16Wow, I'm in the minority here ... I LOVE Aromatics Elixir! I've always gotten compliments from others when I've worn it, but it IS a love/hate thing. My husband can't stand it on me lol ... he thinks it smells like a hospital.
But if you like earthy, sensual fragrances, you might like this one, too. Definitely sample -- you might just find you love it too!
17I really don't like this perfume at all. A lady that works in my building wears it, and I ride the elevator with her all of the time. It truly smells like "old lady". It's not pretty at all. It's extremely strong as well.
18I just prefer fresh scents, and this scent smells like you're trying to cover something up. Definitely reminds me of 'old lady smell' and the nuns at my high school...hee...
19I must agree with everything who thinks this scent reminds them of "old lady". Its very strong and not for everyone so make sure you test it before you buy!!

21I have to agree with everyone who says its very old-ladyish. I got a sample of it with a Clinique purchase a few years ago and I just remember hating it. Such a shame though, since the bottle is so fabulous!
22For some reason this scent smells wonderful on me. Apparently, not so much on everyone else. This is the one scent I've bought more than once. Things smell different on everyone. Happy just doesn't work for me. It's a shame, because I like it on others.
23This fragrance is HORRENDOUS. Every time I smell it, I get the chills... in a bad way.
24I work for Clinique and must regretfully say that I too, cannot stand this fragrance. Probably has a bit to do with the fact that my grandmother wore it...BUT, the bottle is very pretty and the colour story that goes along with it for the holidays is also very beautiful and fun - I suggest checking out that part instead!
25I love the bottle but I'm afraid to smell it after reading everyone's posts. I usually like amber scents since it's my name but now I'm scared, really scared. Who wants to smell like an old lady?
26"appeals to the masses"???? YEAH RIGHT!! This stuff sucks. It smells like a really old lady. My mom works for Clinique and she hates it to!! Honestly, they should stop making it already.
