Backtrack 10 years, if you will, and think of the Spice Girls' heyday. Would you have pegged Posh as the one to become the most famous of the five? But here we are, and Victoria Beckham is the one who's becoming a global lifestyle brand.
In Japan, she has a makeup line called V-Sculpt. I first heard about it a few months ago, when Yum and I were obsessed with making the gesture that Victoria does at the end of this video.
Come get the V-Type!
But only now have I discovered why she's calling her line V-Sculpt. For the explanation, plus a gallery of the only-in-Japan goods, read more
In the January issue of Elle, Victoria explains it. Here's an excerpt:
"It’s called V-Sculpt," she explains. “In Japan, [some women] are very self-conscious. They don’t like that they feel they have round faces. So I came up with this concept of sculpting. Basically, it shows where to highlight and how to apply the makeup. It’s all about sculpting your face and getting that V.” She makes a V
with her index fingers. "That sculpt."
I don't think that Victoria exactly invented this technique, and I happen to think round faces are pretty! But considering the popularity of Posh, I have a feeling she'll make a fortune. Do you think V-Sculpt would fly elsewhere? (And are you similarly addicted to watching this video?)

She's so cute
1
that gesture is priceless. I actually like Posh when she is doing interviews she is really
funny
2Yea she's so cute! I have a few japanese friends, they do think their faces are too round, Posh's makeup line would prob sell in Japan.
3i love v.beckham and was looking if v-sculpt was going to be available in the US sometime soon
4It's not slated for a US launch, but you could always fly to Tokyo.
5I did think she was very pretty back then, but she became more famous than the others because of her husband.
6She is so fun!
7I love her so much. I have my Posh spice barbie on my desk.
8Love to you Vikki
I think she's okay. Never really understood why everyone is obsessed with her.
9The hand movements are hilarious! Perhaps she is using that handy gesture to help the non-English speakers.
10thats so cute
the V-Sculpt is aimed at Japanese ppl but maybe she will do another
range aimed at western audiences.
Go vicki
11Posh is hilarious! Too bad her makeup line is in japan!
12she didn't look to cute in this vid!
13It's so nice to see people saying positive things about her rather than trashing her. I never did understand why people said such hateful things. She really has her act together and is very successful.
14Love me some make up
15That gesture is great; i'ma be doing it all the time now.
16Love Posh!
17Back in the day, i loved her the most because she looked so fashionable, and the only one who dressed like someone her age (the LBD vs. all the horrible get ups the others wore). I follwed her career, and admired her style.
Being that I'm in the fashion industry, I look up to her; she has to work hard to prove she knows what she's doing, and that she has the "eye". Just because you're a celeb doesn't automatically mean you're gonna have a successful line of anything.
Look at Beyonce with her clothing lines; people are buying, but she's not ready to retire as a result of any revenue. Her first runs were horribly cut, and it looked as though they never used a fit model. As a result, retailers are leary to purchase. They tend to order small shipments, and order more once they see how well it test with their customer.
So all in all you have to work really hard to sell fashion.
18Aw priceless shes so darling!xXx
19Haha that gesture is absolutely hilarious!! I got addicted to making that, too..
20Without really thinking about it I tried the "V" move too. Funny that it has a repeatable effect on people. Not sure at how this would go over in the US though. Who knows?
21I don't think she takes herself as seriously as people think she does...
lol Which is
a good thing.
22Haha. I watched the video like 5 times before i scrolled down and read that bit. Its rather comical. I love her.
23The whole concept for her line is genius and will likely be super successful.
I just got back from living in Japan for a couple months and its a culture very obsessed with beauty. Not that its a bad thing... I just felt like slob 99% of the time.
Anyways, Posh is tapping into a great market. Japanese women love love love their make-up. I only wish I was still there to buy some!
24She is so adorable!!
25Ahahaha, the hand gesture was cute. Very Japanese xD
26It just looks like it takes a lot of hard work to be her. The few times I have seen her in interview-type settings, I was surprised that I found her humor very appealing. Not my style musically or fashion-wise, but I sort of liked that personality.
27She's surprisingly funny, right? I never would have guessed that about her, but she's quick-witted and she seems able to poke fun at herself a bit.
Just so you all know, with the posting of this video, Yum and I have recruited more people in our V-Type Gesture Posse. Come get the V-Type! (Help, I can't stop.)
28I love Victoria! She is so cute! Did you guys see her blow up doll episode of Coming to America! Classic!
29come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type! come get the v-type!
aaaaaaaaaahhh i'm addicted! hahahaha
30she's so cute there! however her face doesn't moooooove...wish she'd ease up on the botox a little
31I want to try it
I love her so much!
32Wow, people seem to really dislike her in the UK. I figured the hatred would follow in N.A. but it's nice to see that's not the case!
33♥ her!
34I had to watchi it about four times in a row! I don't know why =]]
35i love her!! she is cute :]
36She was always my favorite Spice Girl. So adorable.
37HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
38she looks like a complete RETARD.
Oh yay! People being nice about lovely, funny Posh! In England she gets such unnecessary crap thrown at her every day of her life. I adore her, she's very sweet, shy and savvy.
39Yeah... I'm not really gettin' what's so cute and funny about her. She is okay. I think she is pretty and dresses very well... sometimes. My mom wonders why so many people ♥ her.. she says that her nose looks piggy, and her style is crazy. lol. Kind of harsh but, oh well. I seriously think that Rihanna is influenced by her, I mean; the hair cut, style, makeup...? It's obvious.
40she's so funny, i love her
41LOVE HER!!!
!azúcar!
42Ame
I wonder if you can buy it here? I would like to check it out!
43apply directly to the forehead...
44Who says there isn't life after the Spice Girls. At least she is learning to become business savvy the make up and now her cologne line. Very inovative !
45love her...love the accent...love the idea...come get the v-sculpt...i wish i could!!!
i think she is hysterical when interviewed and always fairly realistic--she has the best quotes. i think it was that same article when she added that she sleeps in the nude and when the interviewer asked why she pointed out that she's sleeping next to david beckham, so why would she wear clothes...hysterical!
46Posh is so cool. Everyone seems to hate her, but she seems like a great person in interviews and such.
47I'd love to try her make-up. It looks interesting.
Oh, I'd like to try that make-up... Perhaps a trip to Japan is finally in order..
48She really is cute. How expensive is her line?
49LOL Ikeep watching it over and over..but the products themselves look like Avon packaging!
