Nars is ramping up to launch their Spring 2008 collection called Shanghai Lily in January. I've been lucky enough to preview most of this line and I am really happy to see some modern takes on classic neutrals. Lately Nars has been wowing us with showstopping bolds, but this is definitely different. In three words, it's subtle, classy, and irresistible.

- Alhambra Duo Eye Shadow ($31) are two shimmery powder eye shadows in metallic rose and pale champagne.
- Abyssinia single eye shadow ($21) is a single shiny-pearl powder eye shadow that looks great as a base color or a highlighter under your brow bone.
- Success lipstick ($23) is a burnt reddish-sienna shade with a creamy texture and semiglossy finish.
- Manhunt lipstick ($23) is a sheer true-red shade with a shiny finish.
- Dolce Vita lip gloss ($23) is a dusty-rose shade that looks great alone or over any pale- or lip-colored lipstick.
- Greek Holiday lip gloss ($23) is a sparkling pale-sandy pink color (this is also my favorite!).
- Belle de Jour lip pencil ($23) s a chunky velvet matte lip pencil in a nude-beige neutral color.
- The Multiple in Orgasm ($36.50) is a cream version of the shimmery, peachy cult-classic powder blush and lip gloss. This version, previously available only at Sephora, can be worn on your eyes, lips, and cheeks!

1I cannot wait until I can get my hands on the lip gloss and the eyeshadow. I love their lip glosses; they are the best out there, IMO.
2I just purchased my first NARS eyeshadow for New Years Eve. I bought Nightbreed has anyone tried this one yet? It's black with silver glitter - looks like fun can't wait to try it!

6I love the colors. I have to say their lipgloss isn't what I'd hoped it'd be, I thought it was a bit sticky but I'd like to try the shadows and blush.

This looks amazing! I especially love the name of the collection. It's so fitting and pretty. The Manhunt lipstick looks fantastic. And I love the Dolce Vita lipstick, so the gloss will be a great addition.
I've tried the Multiple though and even though the color is great, I can't seem to get used to the creamy texture. Especially when I use it as a blush, it's really hard to blend it in to make it look natural. And it seems pretty dry. I just use my fingers though. Any suggestions? Am I using it wrong, perhaps?
9Meh. I like the pinks but not a fan of the golds.
10I don't think those colors would flatter my very fair skin tone...I think they'd look better on someone with a tawnier skin tone.
11I really like this collection! Or at least the idea of it - I'm not quite sure all the colors would look so great. The Dolce Vita lipgloss, definitely, and I'm likely to get the Alhambra duo just for the name (NARS is just killing me with these Spanish names for things... Flamenco lipstick in the fall, and now Alhambra eyeshadow... love it!).
