For the 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Samantha Who nominee Christina Applegate arrived on the red carpet looking very old Hollywood. Celebrity hair stylist Adir Abergel created her gorgeous sparkly side-swept chignon using all Fekkai products. Her makeup was pale and flawless with lined black eyes and red lips. Plus, her gown was so pretty that she made FabSugar's best-dressed list!
For more information about the products and techniques that Adir used to create this unkempt updo, read more.
- Step 1: Since creating texture is key to this kind of look, begin by applying Fekkai Coiff Shape and Set Mist all over the hair from roots to ends. Next, blow-dry hair and finger comb through.
- Step 2: Then, take a one-inch barrel curling iron, and curl two-inch sections of your hair, choosing random pieces all over your head. You do not have to curl every hair, only about two-thirds (since you are trying to create an uneven texture).
- Step 3: Rub a dime-size amount of Fekkai Coiff Nonchalant in your palms and gently rub it all over your hair. This will create a soft hold.
- Step 4: Use your fingers to hand rake your hair into a low side ponytail. Secure with a hair elastic at the nape of your neck, leaving the ponytail loose and slightly messy. Lastly, twist your ponytail to create a messy chignon and secure with bobby pins. Then, mist your entire head with Fekkai Sheer Hold hair spray.

Very pretty...
1I really loved the way her hair looked.
2It's easy and fresh
3Her hair looks great ... her makeup on the other hand ...
4easy peesy
5Her hair looks fantastic
6Not really likin it
7The hair is nice, but I think the biggest triumph of this look is the perfect semi-matte red lipstick.
8Gorgeous look but I find it's always hard to recreate a messy look. It's a lot easier to make a neat updo.
9Cute in front but the back looks like a messy beach ponytail.
