A simple Christmas tree design is the easiest way to wear your holiday spirit on your fingertips. For this look, I used Zoya Nail Polish in Neely ($8), a pale green, as my base; Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Rampage ($17), a forest green, for the tree; and a glittering top coat like Topshop Glitter Nail Polish in Ice Crush ($10) to add festive sparkle. I found yellow stars at a craft store to add the final touch, but you can easily use gold polish to paint on your tree topper.
To create the look, I applied a base coat followed by two layers of the light-green shade. I let the shade dry overnight, but if you don't want to wait, then I recommend at least 30 minutes (for thin coats) to let your nails dry, because the next step requires tape. I cut one- to two-inch segments of tape in half and placed the straight edge along my nails to create the triangle shape. Next, I painted a coat of the deep green shade over the tape to create my tree. While the paint was still wet, I painted a layer of glittering polish to add the ornaments and lights to my tree. Peel the tape off to reveal a sparkling triangle. To make it really look like a Christmas tree, I added a star-shaped rhinestone to the top of my trees with nail glue. Voilà!
Rumors swirled yesterday that Pippa Middleton was engaged to boyfriend Nico Jackson. Turns out that chatter was false, but it made us stop to think about Pippa — her beauty routine specifically. While her older sister, Kate, is known for her incredible blowouts, Pippa has her own stake in the beauty world: what we like to call her "pretty girl" makeup look. Wherever she seems to step out, her makeup look is basically the same — and that's not a bad thing.
So what's the secret behind her makeup look? Keeping things basic. Pippa seems to stick to three main products when she's doing her makeup: black eyeliner all around her eyes, a swipe of pink blush, and a glossy nude lip. The thing that's so genius about this approach is that she's basically just highlighting her best features. Thick black liner draws attention to Pippa's big, brown eyes while the blush highlights her gorgeously chiseled cheekbones. And since you can tailor this look exactly to your own face, you're sure to always nail it. Looking to copy Pippa's look? Shop our picks below!

Earlier today, Adele was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles, and the songstress did not let the royal event pass without dressing up her nails and — of course! — wearing a headpiece. You don't need a date with a prince to pull off her look. Now is the perfect time to don a black cage veil to top your holiday hairstyle, and the Goorin Bros. Jeanne headband ($38) has a satin band with a velvet bow that'll do just the trick. And if you're like us, you couldn't help but notice the tiny crowns adorning her royal blue manicure. Re-creating it is easier than you think as you can find plenty of nail accents like this silver crystal crown ($2) or this pink enamel crown ($4) to add to your ring finger. But remember, pinkies up!
If you're anything like us, a chip-free manicure is on the top of your wish list for the holidays. But who has time to actually go to the salon for a gel manicure and sit under those LED lights for an hour — especially around this busy time of year? Lucky for us, polish brands have heard our prayers and started releasing top coats that do the work of a gel manicure, minus those annoying (and time consuming) LED lights. The top coats offer up chip-resistant protection with some glossy shine thrown in, and some of them are even quick-drying. Are you impressed yet? Shop our picks below!
I'm not going to lie, I absolutely love, love, love red lips. While I rock them year round, the Winter months are when I know I can wear them daily if I wanted to. Most reds go really well with my skin tone, which is definitely a plus, and it allows me to really play up my pout and attract attention to the fullness of my lips. I started off this look first by applying my eye makeup. I did a similar look for an Inspired makeup tutorial, and I also rock out similar eye makeup often, so creating this look for me or anyone is a breeze. In this particular look, I am using Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette ($27). I first applied my transition color and blended it into the crease and slightly toward my brow bone. To create this, I used a combination of Naked 2 and Faint from the Naked Basics palette. Once done, I applied W.O.S. (Walk of Shame) and used it as my lid color and highlight color. For my eyeliner, I used Jesse's Girl Waterproof Eyeliner Pen ($7) (which is becoming an absolute favorite) and applied to my upper lash line, creating a slight winged liner. Finishing off my eyes with mascara, I used Elizabeth Mott's It's So Big Volumizing Mascara ($20) and applied the mascara to my upper and lower lashes, and my eyes were completed. For my lips, I used Lipstick Queen's Black Tie lipstick ($50) — a gorgeous bold red lipstick that I am absolutely in love with. I first lined my lips with Milani's True Red Color Statement Lip liner ($4) and then applied Black Tie lipstick and blended with a lip brush.
If you are a foundation wearer or like to contour and highlight, you can surely do this step prior to applying your eye makeup or after to complete your look. I do not use foundation or concealer so I skipped this step. For this particular look, I opted for a more natural face and decided to not contour my cheeks like I did in the "inspired" look I created previously. This look is really just about the lips with a little subtle drama to the eyes. It's wearable for every day but definitely showstopping, and you'll surely turn heads at any New Year's celebration. To complete the look, add your favorite accessories and a cute beanie or fedora and a warm coat or sweater.
