Michelle Obama's bangs have caused quite the flurry in and out of the White House, and the excitement over her fringe continues with the release of the first lady's official portrait. In the photo, her layered style is feathered, and her bangs appear a bit shorter than previous pictures from the Inauguration, touching just above the brows. Michelle stuck with her subtle makeup style with a taupe eye shadow, black liner, and pink gloss. She debuted the new hairstyle on her birthday last month, and recently stated the change was part of a midlife crisis. Regardless of what prompted the hairstyle changeup, we can't wait to see what other beauty moves four more years in the White House inspires.
It was about the future at Theyskens' Theory's Fall 2013 show, from the minimalist clothing to the clean, fresh skin. Designer Olivier Theyskens worked with James Kaliardos for MAC to execute the woman of the future, putting the focus on a diffused, lit-from-within complexion. The hair, by Kérastase's Odile Gilbert, felt equally polished and yet untouched, with strands slicked back into a headband for a cool waterfall effect. Curious to see what we'll all look like in 2013? Well, check out our video now.

From the dark lipstick to the fauxhawks atop the models' heads, Fendi went punk for Fall 2013. The collection featured fur on everything — from coats to handbags and more. The beauty look followed suit with a furry fauxhawk mounted on top of a french braid to create a punk silhouette. What's your take on this hair-raising look?
Even celebrities get a blemish now and then, so Allure chatted with a dermatologist to the stars on how red-carpet beauties get their skin in tip-top shape.
Waking up to a monster pimple is problematic for anyone. But for the celebrities attending this weekend's Academy Awards, grinning and bearing it isn't an option. That's when they call L.A.–based dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer. Lancer, who tends to the likes of Ryan Seacrest and Victoria Beckham, keeps his office open for frantic calls in the hours leading up to the awards show. "It would be extremely uncommon not to see people on Saturday or Sunday," he says. "Stuff always happens — they have an irritation, or they have a costume change and something is now showing on the back that has to be dealt with." We spoke with the dermatologist to find out how he prepares A-list skin for its biggest night of the year. Get Dr. Lancer's tips when you keep reading.
At New York Fashion Week, matte nails were as trendy as ever, but unfortunately, we can't just all run out and buy matte polishes to get in on the style. Luckily, all you need is Essie's Matte About You Matte Finisher ($10). This top coat instantly turns any polish matte, even your glossiest hues. Plus, it's quick drying, which makes messing up your manicure that much more difficult. Stay-for-days polish jobs are doable at home — even for those of us who are less dexterous than the rest.
At London Fashion Week, the hair and makeup sent down the runway is typically much different than that featured at New York Fashion Week. Although the cities are only separated by the Atlantic, British designers opt for more inventive makeup shades and intricate hair designs. See what beautiful (and sometimes bizarre) things the runways had to offer from London Fashion Week Fall 2013.
