In less than a month, the new season of America's Next Top Model kicks off. Thrill! This time around, Tyra has plucked 14 hopefuls, all of whom are shorter than 5'7" (but only one of whom is shorter than the average American woman). As always, Buzz gives some background on the contestants, while I predict the makeover they deserve . . . and the awkward makeover they're more likely to receive. Read on!

Yeah, they're not short compared to the everyday woman. But 5'7" is short for high fashion modeling, which Tyra's been trying to do since season one and has yet to turn out a "top model." Runway model standard is 5'9"-6'0", 5'8" if you're really lucky. ANTM has lost any credibility it has left. What is Tyra trying to do? Give short girls a chance? Maybe they should just try commercial modeling.

5'7" is indeed tall, but it's too small for most models to work — Kate is an anomaly. But I agree, these girls are not short at all. Most are still taller than the average American woman!

I looked up the heights. There is one girl who is 5"3, and the rest are 5"5 - 5"7. This is total bullshit! 5"7 is TALL! Kate Moss is 5'7!

they never do anything to the asian girls hair!.... just once I would like to see them chop their long hair off...(speaking as n asian girl with short hair)
