We're excited to present this story from Allure:
Perfectly pristine with sheer scarves and tidy neck ties (don't forget the necessary bag of peanuts), a flight attendant's appearance has always been somewhat of a focus. But is it possible that the sky high beauty standard has become unattainable? American Airlines recently launched a competition to find good-looking male and female crew members to appear as models in a photoshoot for the airline. Flight attendants were asked to go online and vote for the most attractive participants, all of whom sported the airline's newly designed scarves, ties, and striped shirts.
Union bosses are already attempting to put an end to this unlikely beauty pageant, but it made me wonder: While a neat and organized flight crew may give us an added sense of security as we take off, do we really need them to be Miss (or Mr.) America gorgeous? What do you think? Should flight attendants have to be beautiful?
