Ava Anderson Non-Toxic Products Review

Ava Anderson Wants You to Dump Your Toxic Skin Care

5

Many of us have heard about the possible hazards of certain cosmetic ingredients, but at the age of 14, Ava Anderson decided to do something about it. After reading a study by the Environmental Working Group, she developed Ava Anderson Non-Toxic, a skincare range that earns a zero toxicity rating on the EWG's Cosmetic Safety Database.

The line is free of parabens, pthalates, and any other ingredient that doesn't rate a zero in safety. To see what I thought of some of the products, read more.

The Ava Anderson line is set up similarly to Clinique's, with a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer designed to be used together. The cleanser ($20) has a texture similar to Cetaphil, but it foams, so you get more dirt and oil removal. The witch hazel-based toner ($20) is non-irritating, and my skin feels really clean and soft after I use the two products together. The moisturizer ($19), which is by far the best deal in the line, smells like Fruit Roll-Ups, keeps my skin hydrated pretty much all day, and hasn't caused any breakouts. I like the products, but they're basic — so if you're looking for an anti-aging powerhouse, you may be disappointed. (Not surprising, since Ava's, you know, 16.)
