Beauty Flashback: Care Free Curl

Everything old is new again — if you wait long enough. Kanye West helped bring back retro sunglasses, the likes of which make a cameo in this mid-'80s spot for Care Free Curl. While a modified Jheri curl is back for some Hollywood stars, I'm not sure if we'll ever go back to the days of asymmetrical haircuts and shoulder pads. (Or will we?)

Bella, you had me laughing so hard. Remember "Coming to America," when the family of Soul Glo gets up and and you see their hair prints - :lol: ---I equate that to Care Free Curl.

Oh Lawd, Bella you totally went there! I remember this awful blast from the past. Some of friends use to rock the Jheri curl do back in the 80's and I always was digusted by the oily, drippy residue on thier collars :rotfk: My mom asked me if I wanted the "Care Free' look, and I told her no!! Ugh, I still cringe even thinking about it!!

Wow! A Curl Free Curl=Greasy pillow cases and a forehead filled with acne. FYI...an asymmetric hair cut AND an oily,drippy CARE FREE CURL ARE NOT THE SAME THING! This was the era of big bamboo earrings, Troop Jackets and Brtitish Knights sneakers. As with all these things aforementioned, there is NO way in HELL the CARE FREE GIRL should be on the brink of a comeback anytime soon. LOL! Love, 2009
