Emma Stone: "Makeup Is Never a Chore For Me"

As the face of Revlon, Emma Stone already possesses a keen interest in makeup.

As the face of Revlon, Emma Stone already possesses a keen interest in makeup. But the experience of getting into character on the set of one of her latest movies, Gangster Squad, took it to a whole new level. "The craziest part was Christien Tinsley [the film's head makeup artist] trying to make my skin one solid shade, because I have freckles," Emma says. "So they literally had to do concealer, then foundation, then concealer, then foundation again. I felt like Queen Elizabeth I."

The strong brows and bold lipstick shades her character wears in the film, however, are now among some of her favorite palettes. Emma even started playing around with these midcentury-inspired looks in her every day life, which is a pretty big departure from her typical day-to-day makeup. She shares her beauty philosophies when you read on.

Jessica Simpson may be known for her vocal talents and bubbly personality, but the star has really made a name for herself in the fashion world. The Jessica Simpson Collection features an array of clothing items and accessories and has even extended into kids' wear, for which Jessica and her sister, Ashlee Simpson, paired up to promote at an Orange County Macy's over the weekend.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Jessica-backed company without some beauty products thrown into the mix. Jessica has launched five fragrances since 2008, with Vintage Bloom eau de parfum ($49-$65) being the most recent. The sheer floral contains notes of lemon, Caipirinha lime zest, peony, raspberry blossom, sandalwood, and musk. "Creating Vintage Bloom came about in a time in my life when everything was feeling very organic and new," Jessica says. "Everything felt like a beginning, and that's how this scent smells to me." Michelle Phan has been dazzling the world on YouTube for over five years with her mesmerizing, almost dreamlike video tutorials and impressive makeup talents (have you seen her transformation into Angelina Jolie?). But the beauty guru hasn't stopped there. An ambassador for Lancome, Michelle is also the cofounder of ipsy.com, a newly launched website where beauty enthusiasts can visit to provide and gather inspiration. "Ipsy is the beauty community where you go to share your interest with other like-minded people," Michelle explains. "It's about discovering beauty all over again and finding people who you can really relate to — or other people that you may not really relate to," she says. "You're intrigued and you are so interested in what they're producing, the content that they're making, and the content that they're curating."

And it's Michelle's other entrepreneurial effort, Glam Bag, that thrives on the community-based site. Launched last December, the monthly subscription service comes with four to five deluxe-sized samples or full-sized beauty products chosen by Michelle and her team. "Anything you're putting on your hair or face is pretty much all we give and we provide," she explains. In addition, themes are actualized around each bag's launch. "So if it's a Summer look, we want to make sure that the brands we're working with are designing bronzers, highlighting colors, and warm colors, and colors should be brighter, more vivid," Michelle notes. Find out more about the bag, along with Michelle's advice for creating successful beauty videos, when you read more.

Katrina Bowden Talks 30 Rock, Tina Fey, and Her Best Beauty Advice

This season marks the end of 30 Rock, but cast member Katrina Bowden admits that there are some things about the show she will always keep with her — like the advice she received from the other women on set.

This season marks the end of 30 Rock, but cast member Katrina Bowden admits that there are some things about the show she will always keep with her — like the advice she received from the other women on set. "Tina [Fey] is such a great role model," she said last night at a dinner supporting celebrity colorist Beth Minardi. "Seeing her being so normal and down to earth and laughing at herself made me realize that you can be funny and beautiful and smart at the same time."

On the small screen, Katrina's character, Cerie Xerox, is all about her looks. But in the real world, the actress is far from vain. She describes herself as a laid-back girl who chooses flats over heels and jeans over dresses. Beauty-wise, her routine is all about basics — a little lip gloss, mascara, and a quick bun — except when it comes to her nails. "It's always my New Year's resolution to have better hands and cuticles," she said. Katrina keeps her hands soft with Laura Mercier Hand Cream ($15) and a monthly gel manicure.

"For beauty and for fashion, just do what feels natural to you," she advises. "Some people try to do what's in trend even if they don't like it, but I don't try to force myself to look a different way or do something I don't feel natural in." Even though she plays one foxy assistant on screen, Katrina says she doesn't focus on looks above all. "Being beautiful means to me feeling confident, whether it's about the way you look or being happy with the people around you," she says. "I think happiness makes you beautiful."

Why Kristen Bell Wants You to Shower Less

Each year, the average US household wastes an astonishing 10,000 gallons of water, roughly enough to fill up a residential-sized pool!

Each year, the average US household wastes an astonishing 10,000 gallons of water, roughly enough to fill up a residential-sized pool! Unfortunately, with the current water shortage crisis, none of us can afford to look the other way. "There are so many simple things you can do during the course of the day that can make a huge impact," says actress and environmental enthusiast Kristen Bell.

Kristen, who has partnered with Neutrogena Naturals' Jump In. Jump Out. Join In. campaign, is encouraging others to cut their shower time in order to reduce water consumption. "A long shower or bath is something that a lot of people take for granted, and it really isn't good for your skin," Kristen says. And while she acknowledges showers and baths are a great way to destress, there's no doubling up in the Bell household. "I just make sure I don't take both a shower and a bath in the same day," she adds. Kristen has plenty more tips for how you can make a difference, not just in saving water, but for the environment, too. Keep reading to see her eco-friendly advice.

Kaley Cuoco on Big Bang, Balance, and Her Battle With Acne

Kaley Cuoco has been in the acting business for over 20 years, and readily admits to some struggles along the way.

Kaley Cuoco has been in the acting business for over 20 years, and readily admits to some struggles along the way. "I had acne as a teen and it made me so insecure to be on camera — not a good thing when you are on a television series," she says. After her mom suggested Kaley try Proactiv, though, the actress's skin care concerns faded into the background. "I was at the point where I would have tried anything. Ten years later I'm still using it!"

And now at 26, Kaley is Proactiv's latest spokesperson. She counts the brand's Daily Protection Plus Sunscreen SPF 30 as a favorite, along with Sachajuan Volume Powder, Josie Maran Argan Balm, and Hourglass Powder as her makeup-bag staples. A good attitude does wonders too. "I learned early on in this business that for every person who loves you, there are 10 who don't. I have many passions outside my work, and I think that's why I have maintained such a balanced life," Kaley explains.

As for season six of The Big Bang Theory, the CBS comedy in which she stars, expect the unexpected. She does reveal that Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and her character, Penny, will work on their relationship. But when it comes to the similarities between the actress and the role she portrays, that's where a big line gets drawn into the sand. "The only thing I have in common with my character is that we both live next to other people," she quips.
