Remember that episode of Sex and the City when Carrie gets an enormous pimple on the train ride to San Francisco? Ugh, I felt for her. Since adult acne is definitely not high on my list of Martha Stewart-style "good things," I rely on antiblemish products and oil-free creams to help keep the bumps at bay.

So, for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge I'm thinking blemish control. Which products do you love and which ones do you hate when it comes to reducing pimples and oil production on the skin? lin lin - you don't have to sleep on your back if you get a satin pillow! My hairdresser recommended it and I swear by it, not just for your face (acne, wrinkles, it prevents them all) but your hair. I've been using satin pillowcases for about 3 months and my hair doesn't get as greasy and neither does my face. For Hannah, I'm in the same boat. My acne is always cystic and painful, either on my forehead or my chin. I use Mario Badescu Drying Cream (the pink stuff, Drying Lotion, works great on normal pimples but not on cystic or unerupted pimples) on it, it smells like cucumbers and aloe which is nice. It doesn't work overnight or anything, but if I use that religiously it will be gone or erupted in a week. (I'm interested to try the hot water method above though!) For scars I use acid peels. No need to get a fancy one, Neutrogena makes great ones. They are great for your skin regardless, super exfoliating, and fades the scar faster.

Thanks for all the input about Proactiv, I've been going back and forth about trying it for a long time. I tried AcneFree because it was less expensive and seemed similar, but I'm just not getting the results I want. I think I'll bite the bullet and give it a shot!I do own the Thermaclear (like the zeno) and I really love it. When I have a big nasty zit that is just about to come to a head, it works wonders. It is a little painful (feels like a slight pinprick)but there are two heat settings, the lower one is barely noticeable. I have found that it doesn't work well on the awful under the skin zits that stick around for weeks. Those are my main problem, but once it comes to a head... it gets zapped!A good concealer I use is Benefit's Galactic Shield, that contains salicylic acid. Just go light with it because it will make your skin peal if you use too much!

When it is that time of the month I get this gigantic zit in the same place on my chin month after month. I'm not sure what is up with the one spot, but it's only one zit, so I can't really complain. I have super sensitive skin, so when it comes I just put a hot wash cloth on it, and then I put clean and clears spot treatment on it. Once that is dried, I make sure to put some face moisturizer on the spot, or it will dry out too much, and become worse.

i don't get breakouts or humongo pimples but whenever i feel a zit coming along, i make sure to use tea tree oil/aloe vera/honey (kills bacteria and heals wounds)/proactiv's mask...my mum tells me i'm too young to be using all those things (i don't use all those things at ONCE, mind you; those are my options :)but i have sensitive skin and if it works on me it can most likely be baby mild for anyone older than me...i don't use all of proactiv's line because i don't need to except for the mask; i use little spots on a zit and in the morning...IT'S GONE!i recommend concealer that says its use is too take the redness out for the people who've talked about those angry red marks. i've heard that they are efficient!

i have extremely sensitive skin. if a strand of hair touches my skin i could get a pimple. so i've experimented with everything.for spot-treatment blemishes and pimples, benefit cosmetics boo-boo zap! is the best thing i have found in terms of quick healing.to use often, if benzoyl peroxide doesn't do much for you (such as proactive), so far dr. brandt's pore effect clarifying cream is the best daily thing i've ever used.

I have dry acne prone skin. I get these awful cycstic pimples that won't go away for a month and then leave scars for a year. Does any one know of a good scar removal cream that actually works?

people who know me know that a zit can literally ruin my dayi will not go out when i have a big oneit almost ruined a whole weekend trip to NYC beforeit's just terriblei stand by clinique and shiseido acne treatments...but frankly, time heals all wounds! nothing will make it go away as fast as i want!

If anyone knows any amazing products for sensitive skin that gets red they will be my cosmetics goddess. I also need to learn to sleep on my back because I get horrible spots on the one side of my face that I sleep on even when I change my sheets every 2 days.

I swearrrrr by Philosophy's on a clear day face wash, and definately their syrum for those major zits that won't go away. The syrum is def not something to use every day, though, as it can dry out your skin pretty easily.I also use Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals blemish therapy... although to be completely honest, I'm not even sure it works as much as I want it to in my head!

The syrum is def not something to use every day, though, as it can dry out your skin pretty easily. I also use Bare Escentuals Rare Minerals blemish therapy... although to be completely honest, I'm not even sure it works as much as I want it to in my head!

oh yeah, i also use the Clarsonic once a day. It makes my skin super soft and smooths out my complexion.

Honestly, I think breakouts have more to do with hormones then the products one uses to make breakouts disappear. With that in mind, I've been taking spironolactone once a day since I was 21 and my skin has been beautiful ever since. I SWEAR BY IT. I also think it is important to exfoliate your skin once or twice a week to prevent breakouts. And if your skin is oily, stick to using a milk based cleanser and very mild toner. I use to make the mistake of using products that were too abasive for my skin and it caused even worse breakout. For oily skin, I'd recommend - Comfort Zone, the milk and Comfort Zone, tonic, in addition to spironolactone
