Beauty Mark It Results: Recession Obsessions

After splurging on a $200 hair repair cream, my wallet was begging for a little relief. That's why this week's Beauty Mark It was all about products on the cheap — we're practically in a recession, after all. That's why I challenged you to find beauty goodies for $10 and under.

Team member Bebeshopper certainly rose to the occasion. She found the perfect eight-shade Wet 'n' Wild eyeshadow palette all for the bargain price of $4.99. For that price you can follow Bebeshopper's suggestion to pick up a couple and feel guilt free.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Face mask; works like a charm & soaks up everything of what the oil wells under my skin produce (sebum that is). Some times also reduces zit's dimension and painfulness. Cost less than $4. Works better than Murad's, Clinique's and Astara's masks, even the home-made aspirin mask! Just looks very slumber-partyish but smells minty-good.. :D

The Maybelline Great Lash is honestly the best drugstore mascara I ever tried. I used it for years when I was younger. But then I discovered Lancome Definicils... and I never looked back.

Yay for Rosebud Perfume Co. Rosebud Salve! That's the only thing on this list that I actually use.

I use the Clean and Clear benzoyl peroxide, and I like the lip products and body lotions, but I'm not a fan of drugstore eyeshadows. They just don't seem to have enough pigment or to blend as well as better brands.

Pantene ProV Smooth and Sleek really does make hair silky smooth and soft... I couldn't believe it: a product that does what it says it will! Go fig.. lol

I love Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask. I just got done doing a facial with it a few minutes ago.

I have a few things on the list. I love the Mint Julep mask, it's a life saver. Vaseline is a staple. I loved the scent of the Freeman shampoo but didn't like the results. I've tried many of the other things over the years.

I feel cool because I already have/use 5 things off the list. Yay! I love my Dr. Pepper lip gloss. :)

I have quite a few things in that list: Bigelow's Mentha lip tint, Revlon Colorstay 12 hour eyeshadow, CG Trushine lip color, Bonne Bell's Dr. Pepper lip gloss, Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, Ponds Cold Cream (I use this around my hairline and on my neck on the rare occasions that I want to dye my hair so it doesn't stain my skin)and E.L.F's smokey eye kit, which I have yet to use. What can I say, I love a good bargain ;)

Wow, so many great affordable choices! I personally am a devotee to Great Lash mascara and the Bigelow MenthaShine glosses...I'll never stop buying them!

maybelline full and soft is my FAVORITE mascara, i would never pay over 8 bucks for mascara.

Ugh. Do NOT buy that Freeman Papaya conditioner... that stuff did AWFUL things to my hair. It took half a bottle of Neutregena Clarifier to get all the grease out.
