An Alexander McQueen Fragrance Is Coming

The world of designer fragrance is once again expanding with the announcement that Alexander McQueen will release a men's and women's fragrance, developed by Procter & Gamble.

The world of designer fragrance is once again expanding with the announcement that Alexander McQueen will release a men's and women's fragrance, developed by Procter & Gamble. "We believe it's probably the most prominent brand that is not yet playing in the luxury beauty market," P&G Prestige vice president Luigi Feola told WWD.

While this is the first fragrance deal for Alexander McQueen as a brand, the label's late founder, Lee Alexander McQueen, had already taken the first steps into the perfume world. He released Kingdom through YSL Beauté in 2003, as well as the My Queen scent in 2005. When YSL Beauté was taken over by L'Oréal, however, McQueen's fragrances didn't make the cut and have since been discontinued, leaving a hole in the fragrance market that only this iconic brand can fill.

McQueen passed away in 2010, and Sarah Burton took over as creative director. She is expected to "play a significant role" in the fragrance development, according to Feola. No release date has been set.

New Details: Marc Jacobs's Sephora Makeup Line to Launch in August

Marc Jacobs has been a busy man, and he's finally ready to release his color cosmetics line to the world.

Marc Jacobs has been a busy man, and he's finally ready to release his color cosmetics line to the world. When news first dropped back in April, Jacobs seemed quite excited about his foray into makeup. "I see makeup, fragrance — everything, really — as an opportunity," he explained to WWD. "The idea of choosing a color for your lip, or an eyeliner — it's just such a delight. Anything that is part of the joy, the ritual, of getting dressed — that's what fashion's about for me."

The line will be a collaboration with Sephora and is slated to drop on Aug. 9 in brick-and-mortar stores and online, as well as in select Marc Jacobs stores. The 122-piece collection runs the gamut from blushes and lip products to blushes and eye shadows, and it's broken down into broad categories: Smart Complexion, Blacquer, Hi-Per Color, and Boy Tested, Girl Approved. Speaking of boys, Jacobs isn't leaving them out. Three products are unisex: his Lip Lock Moisture Balm ($24), Brow Tamer Grooming Gel ($24), and Remedy Concealer Pen ($39). But don't expect any nude shades in his collection. "It would be too natural," Jacobs quipped.

The collection is also going global, which is a new move for Sephora. Europe will get a taste in 2014, and it will move to China in 2015. A holiday color collection is also in the works, as well as additional core pieces for Spring 2014. "I'm surprised at how delighted I am with the results," Jacobs told WWD. "Now I want to see what the customer thinks. That's the ultimate."

Robert Pattinson has been confirmed as the new face of Dior's fragrance for men, Dior Homme, and the fragrance brand has released a first look at his campaign image. But the Twilight heartthrob isn't the first celebrity to lend his face to Christian Dior. Robert joins a celebrated list of names, including Jude Law, Alain Delon, Natalie Portman, and Charlize Theron.

Campaigns have already reportedly been shot by photographer Nan Goldin and director Romain Gavras, but no release date has been confirmed yet. Unfortunately for those of us in the States, the television campaign will run exclusively in Europe, with the exception of the UK, and Asia, excluding Japan and China.

Lucy Hale Is Mark's New Girl

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale has lots to celebrate; she has been tapped by Avon's boutique brand Mark as its new brand ambassador.

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale has lots to celebrate; she has been tapped by Avon's boutique brand Mark as its new brand ambassador. Her new roll involves more than just lending her visage to Mark's many ad campaigns, since Lucy will also be the spokesperson for Mark's m.powerment by Mark campaign, which helps to stop the cycle of dating abuse and partner violence against young women. She's following in the fashionable footsteps of past ambassadresses like Lauren Conrad and Ashley Greene.

"I'm incredibly proud to partner with a brand that is as passionate about empowering women as I am," Lucy said. "I've been a fan of Mark's products for years, but it was important to me to work with a brand that is truly about beauty on the inside and the outside." Her first ad campaign will be a part of Mark's August Magalog, which is an extra special issue for the brand: it's the celebratory 10th birthday issue for the Mark brand.
