Benefit is rolling out a few new products for Spring, and the first big one is Erase Paste ($26). It's a brightening, full-coverage concealer meant to hide blemishes, brighten dark circles, and draw attention away from expression lines.
I've been playing around with a sample for a while now, and while it's not the perfect concealer for my own personal needs, I know it's going to be exactly what some of you are looking for. The texture is very creamy, and it blends well; Benefit recommends using your fingertips for application, and I'd argue that it's almost necessary. (The heat of your fingers will help the concealer spread better than a brush would.) The coverage is another plus; the highly-pigmented formula is opaque enough to cover most dark circles. A little goes a long way, so the small jar will last forevah.
So why isn't it my perfect concealer? Medium, the shade I tried, has a pink cast that didn't work well with my coloring. But that's an individual thing; if you do have pinkish skin and you're looking for a creamy concealer, it's worth checking Erase Paste out.

One of the BPJs was asking about this, glad you posted! I'm not sure I like the packaging- I have long fingernails and I'd probably just make a mess.
1I really want to like Benefit products, but I just don't think they think about what looks good on different skin tones. It so irritates me when you can tell a brand has put a lot of though into marketing gimmicks and catchy names, but really hasn't spent a lot of time considering the women who will potentially purchase the product. To offer a concealer in 3 shades is just archaic.
2Good to know...
3Very exciting, I am going to go get it.
4I'm in the boat of wanting to like it, for what it does, and hating it, for the fact that "light" is in fact nothing of the sort when it comes to Benefit shades, and therefore is impossible for me to use. I agree with daneen - making concealer in three shades is SO out.
5I love Benefit, and I have pinkish skin, so this might work well for me. Thanks for your review!
6I've been in the market for a new concealer. I currently use Bobbi's creamy concealer and corrector but it gets old having to put on these two products and eye cream AND powder. I was considering the concealer from three custom color specialists but I might try this first.. unless someone this 3c's is better?
7I want to try this, I'm fair skinned and have dark circles.
8I use Benefit Boi-ing! as my concealer. I wonder how this one is supposed to be different?

I agree with you Daneen! I do like a lot of their products (like their lipsticks and powder blushes) but I would never buy a foundation/concealer/general product geared towards skincare because they are so limited with skin tones. They did just come out with another tinted moisturizer, but their skincare shades are SO not one-color-fits-all. Ridiculous.
10I use Benefit Boi-ing too...and I love it! Don't feel the need to switch it up at the moment.
11i want this and all benefit products!
12Benefit does not cater to my coloring. I've been using Bobbi Brown creamy concealer in porcelain. Everything else I've tried is too yellow or orange or pink. I've heard that "most" women fall in the medium category - as does my sister - perhaps it works for them.
13i might have to try this- i have fair skin with pinkish tones.
14Oh, Benefit, how I love thee. Let me count thy ways.
I'll try this out, for sure.
15Benefit is the best...I'll try pretty much any product by them. Most of my beauty staples are from them.
16this looks great and it's inexpensive, so if it turns out not to work for me i won't be incredibly disappointed!
17looks interesting, but I'd have to read the ingredients.
18I don't normally use concealer but I think I might give this a try. I have pinkish skin--of course, when I do actually wear makeup, I tend to beige it out.
19Thanks for reviewing this! I posted about it a few days ago in the BPJ group and can't wait to try it. There has to be a cure for my dark circles out there somewhere!
20Hmmm I found a cheaper one for just $5.00..YES, FIVE DOLLAR it's from MAX Factor, the concealer which has a lipstick packaging called "ERACE". I bet MAC Lip erase and this one from Benefit work wonders but i'd prefer to spend less (waaaay less) for a drugstrore product which works just as fine.
21YSL had a similar product to this a few years ago; I bought it, tried it once and could not make it work. It also came in only 3-4 shades which did not match with mine. I don't understand 'full coverage' concealer - concealer is topical and should be used to fix up blemishes, uneven skin tone, dark circles.
22sounds great enough!
23So I snooped around at Macy's and Sephora this weekend and they don't have this product their yet (also not on Sephora's website). Is the Benefit website the only place to get it so far?
24I just got this today and I have no words to describe it.
First, let me say that I'm 42 and have been a make-up junkie all my life. I have tried the world's best concelares (from YSL Touche Eclat - which is more of a highlighter)to Chantecaille, Bobbi Brown, Mac, you name it. THIS IS BEYOND.
Its closer to airbrushing and it leaves this opaque but yet glowy sheen on the skin, i cant descrive it. It erased circles, shadows, bags, sun spots, lines.. i can't stop putting it on. You can layer it for an ever more opaque effect but it never looks flat, mask-like or heavy. Great as an eyeshadow base too.
Disclaimer: the middle shade, "2", is a great match for me but that was a pure coincidence. THe product is outstanding, i hope Benefit realizes how many colors we gorgeous women come in and expand the color selection.
You know when you buy something over the weekend and cant wait to wear it to work on Monday? Well, this is one of those purchases.
25ckinmiami I couldn't agree more. I'm the lightest shade, but it's PERFECT. I don't normally use concealer because I feel like I have spackle down under my makeup, but this brightens under eyes, is a GREAT eyeshadow base, and gives an understated glow. It's not super-matte and cakey, but brightens whatever area you put it on.
