I love love love MAC shadows!!! but for the price loreal hip pigments are damn good, especially if you use a good primer first underneath. i prefer Mac shadesticks for that

Glow Minerals!!!! Its the best. I've used a TON of mineral makeup (yes including bare escentuals) and this is my fave!

i love mac's colours but the eyeshadow itself is pretty average. doesn't blend, fades throughout the day... although i will give credits to it because it doesn't collect in the crease of the eye :)

MAC may be really cool, but Bare Essentials is the only thing I have found that does not crease on my eye lids.

For me, it's a toss up between my Mac and Ulta brand shadows. They both are pretty true to color and wear really well. My L'oreal HIP shadows are pretty good quality for their cost. They are highly pigmented like advertised and I love the bold colors that are available. The Max Factor MaxEye shadows I've gotten are pretty disappointing. They're super sheer when applied dry and the shadow cake is harder than most. But then again, they're only $3 each so I guess you get what you pay for.

Urban Decay (plus they have a amazing selection) and Yves Saint Laurent is really great too or Guerlain terracotta loose powder kohl eyeliner has rich pigment I haven't tried the eye shadows, but I imagine they'd be good too. I'm not huge on eyeshadow though thats neon or bright I like my colors really dark deep, but still look rich so the eyes pop. Also not to much eyeshadow or any sort of make up. It should enhance your natural beauty and features. When people wear to much eyeshadow it looks really trashy or silly.

Urban Decay, altho' I also love my Nars, Mac, and Stila. Still, I end up wearing UD about 4-5 days a week. There's a tremendous range of colors and textures, they are well pigmented, and provide good staying power.
