For the Completist

The product: Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm ($39)

The story: Already popular in its native Korea, Dr. Jart+ packs some serious skin care into this balm. Skin-brightening arbutin will lead to a more even complexion over time, and a peptide complex fights premature signs of aging.

Sun protection: Excellent. SPF 45 and a PA+++ rating provide broad-spectrum coverage.

What we like: The cream feels imperceptible on the skin, and it adds a dewy glow without looking greasy. Plus, the formula doesn't oxidize and turn orange — a big plus in our book.

What we don't: There's only one shade available, and the rigid packaging makes it nearly impossible to use all the BB cream inside.

@ModernGraceKelly Thanks for the note. It's very lightweight, which I like. But like you, I wish it had sunscreen. Then again, I wish EVERYTHING had sunscreen. I'm planning to use mine at night for a subtle glow, or over my usual sunscreen to even out my skin tone.

I've tested the L'Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier and it sets on the skin. Most bb's just sit there or are very thick. This feels thin, covers, and isn't greasy feeling. I'd like some kind of physical sunscreen in it, though.
