All of the Halloween Beauty Inspiration From the AHS: Hotel Trailers

If you haven't seen American Horror Story's latest trailer featuring Lady Gaga, then you're missing out on some seriously spine-chilling scenes. In the cult favorite's upcoming Hotel series (premieres Oct. 7), Gaga's set to play ultrawealthy Countess Elizabeth, the blood-sucking owner of fictional Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles. While we fully anticipate to be disturbed by her onscreen character and everyone else in the series, we can't help but obsess over all of the spooky beauty looks in the trailer — they're screaming All Hallows' Eve. Ahead, all of the inspiration you need for Oct. 31.

Voluminous Curls

Nail your '70s-inspired costume with an asymmetrical neckline and big, curly hair, just like Angela Bassett's character. Bonus points if you can pose in front of a bursting light.

Create the look:

Apply a texturizing spray to damp hair, then blow-dry. Using a one-inch curling iron, curl your hair. When finished, apply a strong-hold hair spray and tease at the roots to create maximum volume. For your costume, look for a jumpsuit with a flared leg for a trusted throwback look.

Vampy Lips

Vampy Lips

That deeply moody shade of lipstick set against her porcelain-looking skin and Victorian lace dress makes Lady Gaga appear creepy and gothic.

Create the look:

The key to achieving this look is to create a soft canvas — a light powder (lighter than your natural shade) is your friend. Feel free to dab it over your eyebrows for a zombie-like effect, then finish with a glossy berry lipstick. For wardrobe, try a white lace dress with embellished sleeves, and go heavy on jewelry.

03
Smoldering Eyes
FX

Smoldering Eyes

Crimped hair and brooding eyes on Sarah Paulson are perfect for any Halloween aesthetic. This is the time to play with eye shadow and lip pairings.

Create the look:

Get out that crimper, because you're going to need it for this look. Protect your hair with a leave-in treatment, and once dry, use the crimper to create big hair. For the eyes, use dark shadow and smudge above and below the eye. For the costume, wear a leopard-print blouse.

04
Thin Mustache
FX

Thin Mustache

Evan Peters plays a murderer named James March, who has a sinister stare and deep, brooding eyes. Pull off any kingpin look with a pinstripe suit and rail-thin mustache.

Create the look:

Mustaches can be drawn on easily with some special-effects makeup or even with a thin eyeliner (don't use liquid). Keep the mustache thin, and groom the eyebrows to show off the eyes. For wardrobe, wear a three-piece pinstripe suit.

Razor-Sharp Nails

Razor-Sharp Nails

Talons are getting an upgrade. Try dagger-like digits, and you'll instantly look like a holiday villain.

Create the look:

For something more demure, wear leather gloves and a feather hat, or go all out and get metallic acrylic nails applied in an almond or pointy shape.
