The Biggest Beauty Stories of 2009

This particularly salacious tale of murder and thievery surfaced a couple months back. Allegedly, a gang in Peru was butchering people in order to sell their fat to cosmetics companies. The story didn't jive, though, since rendered fat from other human beings isn't used in any known cosmetics procedures, and updates have strongly suggested that the story was fabricated by local police in an attempt to cover up the activities of a secret government death squad. A macabre and gruesome story either way, and also very sad.
