Unfortunately, I have to give Biolage Fortetherapie Cera-Repair ($13.49) a double thumbs-down for being a colossal waste of time. It's not often that a hair product can disappoint me this much, but after spending fifteen minutes in the shower, I was left waterlogged with knots in my hair. I actually had to step back into the shower and re-condition just to get a comb through it.

And not only that, but I was upset to have spent my allotted weekly hair mask ritual time on something completely unsatisfactory. Also, the key ingredients are lemongrass and mango and I don't think the product had any kind of scent whatsoever.

The claim from Matrix is that with continued use, these ceramide-rich conditioners help strengthen, repair and reduce breakage in your hair. The box comes with five treatments, and while I understand that you are supposed to complete them all over the course of five weeks to see the full effects, one experience was enough for me.

lol that is your fault for using it not properly. This product is meant to be used in salon (that means by a professional... wow!), most likely YOU made the mistake. OH WELL...lol

The end of my post above should say: Its even better if you use the same kind of Biolage shampoo and conditioner as the treatment.

I have to play devil's advocate too and say that you are supposed to condition your hair after you use the Cera Repair. It is not conditioner but actually a treatment. I use the Cera Repair Pro, have bought the hydratherapie, volumatherapie, and recently the fortetherapie. I have thin over processed hair from bleach and this stuff does wonders for my hair. The hydratherapie and fortetherapie work the best but you MUST condition after you use it. Its even better if you use the same kind of Biolage shampoo and condition with it.

Hi Bella- I just found this review after using this Cera-repair twice and I have to say that I completely love it! It left my hair completely silky smooth and for my hair type it was well worth the money- my hair is super thin-babyfine but a bit dry from color treatments and I was really happy with this product. Anyways figured I'd play devil's adovacte since I really was happy with these treatements. I do want to try the Redkin one though next . . . then I can compare the two.

This ISN'T a conditioner, it's a strengthener. It is meant to work in conjunction with a conditioner, as it won't soften/detangle your hair, only STRENGTHEN it. Try conditioning your hair with a deep conditioner after using this product.

I really liked their mask treatment/deep conditioner. So I thought these little things were great. Only used it once, and basically wasted my money. I still have the rest of the tubes sitting in my bathroom.

Hair treatments with lots of protein usually do make your hair feel worse. They strengthen your hair and make it stronger and prevent breakage and are not meant to make your hair soft and manageable. I would not use the product again either because you didn't get the results you were looking for.

If you want uber soft and shiny hair, go with Redken's So Soft line. I use the "Heavy Cream" formula, and you can leave it on 5-15 minutes depending on how much deep conditioning you need. Let me tell you, I LOVE it! My hair was so soft I couln't stop touching it and it was so shiny (it has avacado oil in it) that I actually found no need to use the shine spray I normally use. Thumbs up!

Huh. I'm surprised that this was so lame. I use Biolage Hydrotherapie Hair Repair (may be an older formulation, though, I bought several boxes in 06 on sale), and I like it. Seems to have been good for preventing split ends (I abuse the flat iron), but who can really tell? v:/v I definitely won't be trying this stuff when I run out, as I'm allergic to mango anyway.

Wow, that's really horrible! Thanks for the warning - I was looking at this as well, because I've used up all my old hair mask. I'll be playing it safe this time, I think!
