Not many countries can claim a spa as its main tourist attraction, but in Iceland's case, it's easy to see why so many people flock to the Blue Lagoon. The milky blue waters of this geothermal spa draw hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, and it's as relaxing as it is picturesque. I'd heard of this beautiful place, but never dreamed I'd see it with my own eyes. So when the Blue Lagoon invited BellaSugar on a trip to see the spa, what could I say but "já"? Beautyaddict13, start saving! It's a beautiful country. I drove around the southern coast, and it's awe-inspiring. Made sure to stop at the Blue Lagoon a few hours before my flight home, too. It's such a nice way to start or end a trip.Celestialkat, I'm so glad you went! It sounds like you had an amazing time. How was the daylight in September? I can't decide whether to go back next October, for Airwaves, or to save up to go during prime tourist season (pluses: puffins, near-constant sun. minuses: prime tourist season).

My husband and I went to Iceland in September. One of our last days there, we went to the Blue Lagoon, almost backing out because we didn't want to spend that much money to swim in a salt water pool for an hour and then be ready to go. We are so glad we went!! We ended up staying about 4 or 5 hours and the experience was just incredible. There where a couple of spots the water was too hot to stand, but the lagoon was heaven.
