Botox Brunch: Coming Soon to a Hotel Near You?

The new issue of Marie Claire has a story about Botox parties—namely, those that happen in a hotel. Combined with spa treatments and breakfast, they offer guests a chance to enjoy luxurious surroundings while injecting their wrinkles away. "We think Botox parties might become a fun alternative to bridal showers—or maybe divorce parties," says Neil Sazant, owner of the Sagamore Hotel in South Beach, Florida. The hotel will soon offer "Botox and Lox" parties beginning at $750 per person.

Isn't it funny to think that only a decade or so ago, very few people were getting Botox? Now it's becoming so commonplace that there's a walk-in Botox clinic next to Bloomingdale's, and a Dallas clinic that's in the mall next to Sephora. What do you think about this spread of Botox availability?

I don't agree with botox but its a personnal choice if people want to do it it's their choice.

personally, i am not down with botox, but if you are, well, i can't stop you. i just wish people would be happy about getting older instead of wishing they looked younger.

I don't know what the long term affects of botox are and neither do the doctors. I have a feeling the look will not be good later on in life. Unused muscles atrophy and I would think the skin would sag more from that or you may wind up having a permanent stone face.

I don't think that I would ever do something like Botox. It just seems odd to me. I have stayed at the Sagamore Hotel before and they cater to alot of European's. I am guessing that this is a common practice for them then. I wonder if the Lox and Botox parties would be more travelers or locals....

Botox is NASTY. It's a bacterial toxin that paralyzes your muscles. People who routinely get Botox actually look OLDER after a while because the skin over the muscles loses its tone. I'd much rather look young by eating healthy food and using a decent sunscreen and moisturizer.

I love the fact botox is becoming more available. I recently had botox done to eliminate my underarm sweating. I actually cried the first time I wore a gray top and didn't have pit stains.

I don't think this is something I would enjoy but who knows I've got a long time before I need botox with any luck.

Good idea if it is done by a doctor with experience ! Expensive though ... i pay much less for mine ;-)

I can't help but compare botox parties to heroin crashpads. It's the same thing from the eye of the observer...friends getting together to stick themselves with needles. Perhaps when I'm older, if the wrinkles interfere with my daily life.

I'll see how I feel about it when it would be a treatment that I could use. But I sort of feel that the lines that botox gets rid of are the good kind of lines. The ones that you earn and that give you character. I don't know how I feel about not being able to have certain expressions on my face because I've paralyzed the muscle that makes that expression. However I also am pretty vain and when the time comes it might be a different story.... I do know that those botox parties aren't the way to go when getting it done. Often times the treatment isn't as good, the product is watered down, etc. Just make an appointment at the medispa
