CND Sugar Sparkle Effect and MAC Alice + Olivia Nail Polish Reviews and Pictures
Why Flakiness Is a Good Thing (When It Comes to Manicures)
by POPSUGAR Beauty 2
If you're a nail polish junkie, chances are you've at least heard about "flakies," or nail polishes with flakes of unevenly sized sparkles. I'd been hunting around for a good silver one, and found CND's Sugar Sparkle Effect #566 (paired here over MAC Alice + Olivia Nail Lacquer in Morning After, $14). It's available only as part of the CND Summer Sugar Buzz set ($17).
Because the flakes are small, the look is subtle instead of flashy. From a distance you get a cleaner, less dramatic look that's very wearable, especially for work. If you're looking for more of a Studio 54 vibe, you can also layer it a lot more for a more glitter-like effect. It's lasted well so far, and on the fourth day of wear (no topcoat!), it's chip-free.
