Carrie Underwood Is Olay's First Celebrity Face

Big news for Olay today: the venerable skin care company has signed Carrie Underwood as its first celebrity "brand ambassador" in North America.

"It's been over a decade I've been using some product from Olay," the country singer said at a press conference today. "Olay is something that women trust. I now get to play more than I ever thought I'd get to play." Carrie will appear in an ad campaign beginning in November, and she'll then be the face of a few product launches in 2011. What do you think? Is she a good fit?

I didn't realize that Olay does testing on dogs for their products, I think that is not right, And Carrie Underwood celebrity "brand ambassador. And she is against Animal Cruelty, something is not right here. I will never use Olay again.

They're not only anti-aging. That's just what you see on the commercials all the time. I've been using their salicylic acid face wash since I was in 8th grade...veeeeery long time. A decade or so! I've also found that their face lotion with sunscreen for combination/oily skin was/is the only thing that works for me.

I have never associated Olay with anti-aging. I know they have anti-aging products. I remember using Olay when I was 12.

This really doesn't make any sense to me. Olay aka Oil of Olay has always been a brand devoted to anti aging skin care. Why would they hire a celebrity as young as Underwood to be the face of their brand? I saw one of their commercials the other day and it featured Angie Harmon which is right on target for their demographic.

I've always associated Olay with old age/trying to stay young looking, but I know that's not correct. So I do think this is a good fit, because she has unreal skin and she's lovely.
