If there's one thing the beauty world can agree on, it's that Connie Britton's hair is magical. Seriously, the 46-year-old actress's copper-red curls are just as bouncy and shiny as when we fell in love with her on Friday Night Lights. Now we've been gushing about her mane's perfection on Nashville and envying it on the red carpet, and last night, Connie gave us another glimpse of her drool-worthy 'do. The actress walked the red carpet at the New York premiere of August: Osage County with head-turning hair. Gentle curls came together in a side part to create her signature style, which she paired with a sweep of flattering bronze eye shadow. So let's just take a minute this Friday to stare at Connie's perfect hair, and let it inspire you to whip out your curling iron this weekend.
Zoe Saldana had a packed schedule yesterday, heading from the Golden Globe Award nominations to the amfAR Inspiration Gala. She showed us how to pull off a daytime chignon with red lipstick (left) and then transformed the same look into an elegant date-night style (right).
Her polished chignon is an easy look you can quickly pull off before heading to the office. Zoe wore a slightly off-center part to frame her face and pulled the rest of her hair back into a sleek low bun. To copy her style, make sure to tease your hair at the crown for a little lift before smoothing your hair back. Don't forget to use a finishing cream like Frédéric Fekkai Coiff Perfectuer Anti-Frizz Silkening Creme ($25) as you pull your hair back to ensure a similarly sleek chignon. Finish off your look with a flick of liquid liner, a touch of blush on your cheeks, and a swipe of cherry-red lipstick like Revlon Super Lustrous Lipcolor in Fire and Ice ($7).
When 5 o'clock hits and you're sprucing up your daytime look for a night out, do like Zoe did and give your updo a quick twist! Take out your daytime 'do, and give it a quick spray of dry shampoo for some added texture. Shake up your hair with your hands before pulling it back into a looser, messier chignon. Leave out a face-framing tendril that you can give a quick curl with something like the Conair Mini Pro Curling Iron ($16, originally $21), which is small enough to stick in your handbag. Update your makeup by adding bronze shadow to your winged eyeliner, and swipe on a richer red lipstick like Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Icon ($30).
Olivia Wilde's baby bump isn't the only thing that's growing. The mom-to-be stepped out to the premiere of Her last night in Los Angeles looking like her hair had grown a healthy amount while she was sleeping. Olivia's mane also looked a touch darker, which made the ombré on her ends stand out even more. She paired her new length and color with a shock of blue eyeliner and nude lipstick.
We recently chatted with Olivia about her status as a hot girl in Hollywood, and we think this hair change once again reaffirms that title for her. But what do you think of the look?
Taylor Swift turns 24 today, and the young star has accomplished a great deal throughout her nearly 10-year career. At 14, Taylor moved to Nashville, where her country-music stardom began to soar. Since then, several of her catchy tunes have been chart-toppers, she has a whole slew of Grammys under her belt (vintage-inspired, of course), and she even nabbed a contract with Covergirl at the age of 20. From her signature curly hair to her go-to winged liner and red-lip looks, Taylor hasn't veered too far from her beauty center, but she has definitely shown some style evolution over the years. Here's a glimpse back at the birthday girl's best beauty moments.

Lorde has recently solidified her spot in the world of beauty with her signature vampy lipstick, but Rooney Mara reminded us that she's always had a soft spot for this moody hue. Rooney stepped out last night sporting a shade that looked like it was plucked straight out of Lorde's makeup bag. The shade was a dark, shiny berry, which looked diffused around the edges, like a stain. To keep the focus on her look-at-me lips, Rooney's eyes were kept bare, save for a thin swipe of liner and a few coats of mascara. Lorde typically likes to keep things simple save a sexy cat eye when it comes to pairing eye makeup with her signature lipstick, which is why the two looks are so similar. But has Rooney effectively dethroned Lorde as the queen of vampy lipstick? Or does Lorde still reign supreme?
You may not be familiar with the name Lupita Nyong'o, but you should be. Not only is she one of the stars of 12 Years a Slave, which is already generating a whole lot of Oscar buzz, but she's also on the verge of completely blowing up the beauty world, and for good reason. But when you're brave enough to rock a shaved head, bright hues are just a stroll in the park. Ahead, we have 22 red carpet reasons why Lupita should be on your radar.
