Do Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham have the same makeup artist? Looking at the London Global Gift Gala red carpet, it's a serious possibility. The duo wore smoky eye makeup so similar, it had to be a coordinated effort. The shadow was dark black with shimmer, and the waterline was accented with inky eyeliner. The lashes were also given extra oomph with loads of mascara. From there, the makeup palettes veered a bit, but each lady stuck to neutral tones and blush. Eva wore warm peach on her cheeks and lips, while Victoria stuck with a rosy blush and matte taupe lipstick. Who wears this inky smoky eye better?
We're used to seeing Ke$ha in extreme beauty looks, and last night she gave us a whole new take on the smoky eye. Taking to the red carpet for the inaugural amfAR India event, she sported a more literal take on winged eye makeup. Her black smoky eye flared out in a feathered fashion on the outer corners of her eyes and into her hairline then came to a distinct point in the inner corners. The inky color was highlighted with gold glitter paint. The whole look was very Black Swan, no? Not to be outdone by the makeup, her hair was pulled back into an extralong high ponytail. Then she topped it off with a gold beaded headpiece. We know this beauty look is going to be polarizing, so tell us: what do you think of her daring choices?
It was a colorful night at the Museum of Modern Art 2013 Film Benefit. Jessica Biel, Karlie Kloss, and Alexa Chung all tried on colorful beauty looks that could rival any artwork. Jessica brought out her green eyes with the Chanel Long Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Jade ($30), and she paired the jewel-toned eye makeup with a nude lip gloss. On the other hand, Karlie and Alexa both focused on a bold red lip. Karlie kept it simple with a heavy lash look, but Alexa was a bit more daring and added a hint of lavender eye shadow. We're inspired by all these styles, but which look is your top pick?
We're all about updating our makeup kit according to the seasons, but rather than spending money on a beauty haul for Fall, why not repurpose some of your Summer shades for the cooler months? Sure, you'll want to try the vampy wine lipstick trend and classic smoky eye every once in a while, but you don't want too much of a good thing. Recently, Dianna Agron was spotted wearing seafoam eye shadow, proving that pastel shades never go out of style. Check out the other stars we've spotted wearing summery hues despite the chill.

Bold lips are always an instant look, and Fall allows more opportunity to wear this easy trend than you may think. While the obvious choice is a bright brick shade à la January Jones (above), red isn't the only hue on the menu. Pinks, berries, and even oranges can all give you life in the cooler months, which is great news for the lipstick mavens of the world. So don't retire your bright shades come Winter . . . pull them out of your makeup bag and swipe them on.

Leave it to Carey Mulligan to prove that we never have an excuse to skip our makeup. The actress showed up to the Inside Llewyn Davis gala donning a simple yet flawless makeup look that put us all to shame. Her picture-perfect skin was complemented with brushed-up brows and just a touch of pink shadow. A thin, black line lined her upper lid, which was framed with her spindly black lashes. But the centerpiece of Carey's look was her bright red lips, which tied the entire look together for a Parisian-chic vibe.
Re-creating this look at home takes no time at all and utilizes products you already have tucked in your makeup bag. When in doubt just stick to the classics. And to shave even more time off your look, skip the liner, and just shimmy your mascara up from the base of your lashes to a tightlined illusion. The look can transition flawlessly from the office to cocktails to weekend brush. So, the next time you're thinking about skipping your morning makeup, just think: what would Carey do?
Sure, we may idolize Lily Collins and Julianne Hough for their epic lobs and brows, but we've just now realized that they're a lot like us. Case in point? They both showed up to the same event sporting identical brick-red lipstick. And if that weren't enough, the two of them looked equally amazing in the hue, despite wearing it in slightly different ways. The envy.
Lily and Julianne both paired their lipsticks with bold, filled-in brows and black polish (Lily on her toes, Julianne on her fingers), but Lily opted for matte blush and very little liner on her eyes. Julianne, on the other hand, swiped her lipstick on with dewy skin and a thick line across her eyes. The lipstick was the focal point of both their looks, and we can almost imagine them passing the tube back and forth in front of the mirror in the ladies' room. Kerry Washington was busy yesterday doing the promo circuit for the season three premiere of Scandal (which airs tonight on ABC), and at each event she changed up her beauty look. For her daytime engagement, Kerry attended The Paley Center She's Making Media event. "When I saw Kerry’s white dress, it was easy to see what I needed to do: sheer, fresh, and light," her makeup artist Brigitte Reiss-Anderson explained. She used the coffee colors in the NARS Kalahari Duo Eye Shadow ($34) and a touch of Falbala Lipstick ($26) to achieve the barely-there makeup. Kerry's hair was flowing around her face in loose curls.
Of course, for her nighttime appearance at the Saks Fifth Avenue celebration, there was an added oomph to Kerry's style. Her curls were pulled up into an asymmetrical updo that showed off her cinnamon highlights, and the simple makeup palette from midday was converted into a sultry red carpet palette. “Kerry wanted a matte lip, and we balanced it by building on her look from earlier, creating a wide-eyed, true, smoky brown eye," Reiss-Anderson explains. She selected the Belle de Jour Matte Lipstick Pencil ($25) and mixed brown and blue eye shadows for her after-five eye makeup.
