Nicole Kidman's eye and nose powder mishap at the NYC premier of Nine last December was actually not visible until the paparazzi's flashing bulbs bounced off her makeup. To avoid similar problems, if you know you're going to be photographed frequently at an event, consider taking a few shapshots of yourself before heading out the door as a test. Also, go with a translucent powder, apply with a brush, tap off the excess, and blend well.
