Back in the 18th century during Marie Antoinette's time, alabaster skin was super chic. The way women went about it, however? Not so chic. The formulation for the highly coveted powdered look came from a toxic blend that included vinegar and flaked lead. And while I'm sure Kirsten Dunst was committed to her portrayal of the French queen in Marie Antoinette, her makeup artists relied on 21st century formulations to achieve this royally white look.
