Big buns are taking over the red carpet [1], and Hollywood darling Chloë Moretz showed how to pull off the ballerina-inspired look with finesse at the premiere of Laggies at the Sundance Film Festival [2]. The textured updo looked effortlessly cool with volume around her crown and pieces falling out of the back. If you want to try this just-whipped-up 'do, read how her celebrity hairstylist Kerrie Urban executed it, below.

"For Chloë's look for the premiere, we wanted to do a textured, fashion-inspired topknot," said Urban. "I began by spraying her damp hair section by section with Leonor Greyl's Voluforme [3] ($36) for volume and lift and then blew it dry with a large round brush. In one-inch sections, I backcombed all of her hair loosely and then gathered it into a high ponytail with my hands and secured with an elastic. I didn't want to brush the ponytail into place, because then I would lose the texture from the backcombing. I teased the pony, wrapped it into a bun, and secured with bobby pins and hair pins."

And the most important part? "I pulled the bun apart slightly and pulled out some wispy pieces around the hairline to give it a really loose, textured feel," the beauty pro explained. "To finish and set the look, I sprayed Chloë's hair with Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle [4] ($38) for all-night hold."

Hear that girls? So put down your bun roller and use the texture that you've got to create a mega bun. Second-day hair encouraged.
