Here's What Really Happens When You Pour Coca-Cola on Your Hair

While we like to drink our Coca-Cola straight with tons of ice, Pinterest has discovered a new use for the soda — a texturizing product for hair. Supposedly, Suki Waterhouse uses the soft drink on her strands to achieve that just-rolled-out-of-bed texture models are known for. YouTuber Ellko tested out this theory by pouring two bottles of Coke on her head. What follows is a sticky, sugary mess (warning: don't wear a white shirt if you try this at home). But once she rinsed out the soda and dried with a blow-dryer, her straight hair had a wavy texture. So instead of spending money on salt spray, dry shampoo, or dry texturizing spray, you can whip out your can of Coca-Cola instead.
