Do You Want to Smell Like Your College?

Not ready to leave your college days behind? Masik, a year-old fragrance company, is betting on it. Their small but growing line features scents inspired by various universities. To create the juice, the team considers things such as school colors, the mascot, campus flora, and the fight song. (Does that mean that the UC Santa Cruz fragrance would smell like a banana slug?) Right now, only UNC and Penn State have their own fragrances, but other schools are following. Would you want to smell like your school, or would you take a pass?

The idea of using some local flora to create the scent sounds like it could be cool. (mascots, etc... not so much) But I have to agree with the majority here. It sounds like just another overpriced novelty item, and I'd be impressed if there was actually any quality scent to it. Plus when they start off with UNC for their advertising, you know you're going downhill fast! ;) hehe

I would buy it as a novelty item, but I'm gussing the eau de UT Austin would smell like pachouli and leather with a hint of drag rat.

My college smelt like a combo of cheap booze, cigarettes and that musty smell that vintage shops have (because the people there were 'sooo edgy', was Goldsmiths, of Damien Hirst fame), so er, no!

Wow, way to target the young and foolish. There's no way I'd want to smell like beer, urine and vomit. I'm surprised UNC went for this.

I went to PSU for the first two years of college. I'd definitely check out the scent. I think it's a fun idea. People who go to PSU are a little fanatical, so it almost makes sense they made a fragrance for us :P

I go to Oxford. Our fragrance would smell like old books, ink, wet cobblestones, and port. With maybe a hint of riverwater and sweaty rowers. It isn't something that I'd really pay to smell like, to be honest.
