Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2008

One of the country's best parades is Coney Island's annual Mermaid Parade. Saturday's event marked the parade's 25th anniversary, and it was a colorful, glittery festival of fun. Some pretty cool mermaids (and mermen) dolled themselves up in over-the-top costumes that would make Ariel blush.
