Do You Dye Your Eyebrows to Match Your Hair?

I remember my mom getting her hair done back in the day by my aunt, the entire family's resident cosmetologist. Toward the end of the hair-dye processing time, my aunt would always sweep a little of the color on my mom's brows to enhance their tone.

What do you think about dying, or should I say coloring eyebrows? Is it an essential step in creating a cohesive look, or do you prefer to leave your brows natural?

As my hair tint shade is considerably darker than my brows I use a tint in 'darkest brown' especially for eyebrows and lashes, my eyebrows are a good shape and I think it completes the look and enhances the brows anyway, its much better than using pencil which can look amateurish and can smudge, As long as you adhere strictly to the pack instructions I have never had any problems and been doing it for years and am complimented on how good my brows look, in fact an ex used to nickname me 'GB's for Gorgeous Brows. Doing it yourself does require some skill, and have cotton buds ready, its a lot lot cheaper than visiting the salon.

I have naturally dark brown hair, and eyebrows, and I'm going to dye my hair a bright red, like, a really unnatural kind of red. Should I dye my brows?

I love how people are saying that colouring your eyebrows to match your hair doesn't look natural. It's the other way around. The rule is that your eyebrows should be 2 shades darker than your haircolour. That's how it usually is for natual hair. I dye my hair white blond though I am very carful to not bleach my eyebrows off. Dark eyebrows with light hair looks fake and it's a dead give away. I have never been asked who dyes my hair, girls always complain to me about their roots and say " I wish I just HAD blond hair like you, I have to dye mine." You just use the same dye near the end of your time and apply it to you eyebrowns with a Q-tip, if you get it in your eyes your seriously a clutz.

I'm going to dye my hair dark brown, and the box says Nutmeg/ dark brown, and I have light eyebrows, should I dye my eyebrows the same color as the dye or shoud I leave the light eyebrows and just dye the dair? I'm not an expert but I'm not sure about the whole light eyebrow/dark brown hair mixture.

I think people should at least lighten their brows if they're going from dark hair colours to light. It just looks really tacky to have your hair be this light blonde and have your brows be nearly black. Not to mention distracting.

Since your eyebrows are normally naturally darker than your hair colour, it's best to leave them alone if you're lightening your hair, but dye them if you're darkening it.

I am going to dye my pixie cut a a bleach blonde when i have naturally dark brown hair (and dark eyebrows duh) but i plan on dying them a tad on the lighter side so it's not too contrasting. Not the full bleach blonde, but enough to look well coordinated.

That's what god made brow pencils for! I dyed my hair red once, and my hair lady slapped some of that crap on my brows. I looked like a pumpkin!

I have very light eyebrows, and I like to dye my hair darker sometimes, so for me dying my eyebrows is appropriate and needed. For anyone that want's a safe and very gentle dye for your eyebrows I suggest betty beauty's bikini hair dye. As long as the eyebrows are darker than your hair its fine. I hate blondes who dye their hair dark but have light eyebrows. Its okay if your eyebrows are brown and your hair is light though

My natural colour (hair & eyebrows) is light ash brown. When I started dying my hair red (Julianne Moore like) I did not dye my eyebrows and the contrast was not flattering at all - not because the brows were darker but because the two colours were so different. Then I started dying them a medium warm honey brown and the overall look is very natural and much more prettier. I suppose it's easier to match blonde and brown (they are more or less in the same "colour palette") but red and ash brown don't match.

Well my eyebrows are dark brown and my hair is black. But I actually think dark brows with blonde or red hair looks pretty cool.

They're nearly black, and my hair is a light ash blonde, so it's a big difference. No I don't, I've never had the need to. My hair matches the colour of my eyebrows (similar to Gisele or Jennifer Aniston's hair colour), and I have really nice dark eyelashes.

Actually the other way around. I started getting white eyebrow hairs in my late 30s and now in my late 40s, they really need some help. I use brow powder and lighten my dark blond hair a bit. I don't look good with dark brows anyway and perfect, penciled-in brows just look so weird.
