Stand up straight! No, this isn't your mother talking to you, this is actually a piece of advice I gave you back in January about how you can prolong the life of your nail polishes. When storing polish, it's best to keep them in a vertical position to prevent the components of the polish from separating. So when I went to rearrange my myriad of polishes, which were thrown haphazardly in a storage box in my closet, I was a little annoyed with myself. Besides the fact that many of my polishes had gone clumpy and those labeled "new" were actually quite the opposite, I began to realize that I don't think I've ever come close to finishing a bottle of nail polish. Have you?

Full Circle
I have never finished a bottle, even of my favorite colors! There are always just too many new ones to try.
1Honestly I can't remember the last time I "finished" one.
2Most of the time, not so much. But there have been a few colors that I've used several bottles of - one Maybelline fall collection that had something to do with tapestry/brocade and was full of the most gorgeous colors EVER, and a Revlon polish that's properly bright red, it's called "Revlon Red" or something like that. But most of the time... they just go bad because I don't use them frequently enough.
3i'm the worst about this. i have tons of unfinished bottles, but i STILL buy new ones. i just hate to throw old ones away.
4I never have finished one b/c the closer you get to the end of the bottle, the polish gets too thick to apply. And if you do apply polish when it's too thick, it dries with tiny bubbles in it which I hate. I've tried loosening it up with nail polish remover, yet that still doesn't return it to its same consistency.
5Seche Restore Thinner should take care of the clumpy nail polish. However I have also never finished a bottle of nail polish but only because I have too many and I never wear the same color for more than a week (and then I will wear it again but not for a while).
6I have never finished a bottle - I don't think its even crossed my mind!
7I'm a fingernail polish addict, and I've never finished a bottle of color. I've finished a bottle of Seche Vita Top Coat, but that's it. I go through my polish collection once a year and weed out the bottles that I'm tired of, because I always want to buy more!
8No. I throw out unfinished bottles most of the time, and I feel bad when I do. I'm not very patient with nail polish.
9I never ever finish a bottle. This is why I love buying the combo packs full of teeny bottles from nice brands like OPI. often the combo back is as cheap as 1 full bottle but you're getting a bunch of shades in a more realistic size.
10They really should make the bottles smaller, except for nail salons.
11I've finished one bottle of nail polish, and that was a clear top coat that I would brush over my nails, whether they were painted a color or not, every so often to keep my nails strong. That reminds me I need to pick up a new bottle.
12
No, I've never finished one. I have about 20-30 colors, so that's probably
why.
13I buy them, use them once, maybe twice, and then usually forget about them until it's too late and the lacquer is no good.
14Nope, never...
15No, I think they get old long before that.
16No. I waste more money that way.
17No. That is why I stopped buying polish. Instead I go get them painted at the salon. Even with the extra cost at the salon it's worth it. My last unload of unused polish was 50 bottles (20 were some shade of red-Still can't find the right shade!)
18No they start to look different- very oily and weird so I throw them out and buy a new shade!
19Generakky I don't finish them - it seems no matter how much care you put into polishes they always go bad before the bottle is up. Just my experience, but I def. have finshed quite a few of them so yes & no.
20No. I don't use nail polish all the time and it always dries out before I finish the bottle. What a waste.
21Generally no, although I have come close with a few clear polishes.
22i only finish one which is the "daily growth" one by SH.
23never!
oh maybe just once. anna sui silver glitter one, i forgot the number
but that was it
24no, never. actually, there was one when i was 17, but i shared it wih my mum, so it doesn't count (was the prettiest shade ever). my get lumpy before i finish them off but that's because i constantly have more than 20 to select from.
25I only ever come close to finishing my top and base coats...even then I prefer the consistency of a new bottle!
26when i was younger and me and my sister shared a bottle we finished it, but now, theyre all partially used. i never get around to doing my nails! theyll clump and get tossed before theyre finished.
i did finish a bunch of the 'bon ton' ones from walmart tho lol.. those had like, 10 drops each tho lol
27Never have, never will probably.
28I said no, but I have finished one GAP one, actually back in middle school. The color was similar to the new OPI south beach color "done out in deco". I'm really bad now, I don't think I will ever finish one.
29I don't think I have ever finished an entire bottle of polish. I have used an entire bottle of clear coat though
30I've only finished one bottle ever. It was a purpley sparkley colour and I reapplied it every week cause it would chip like mad! That's what I get for spending two bucks though.
31No. It's pretty hard to finish a bottle of nail polish!
32You'd have to apply that color quite alot
I have that same pink nail polish but i never used it all out
33Goodness, I never even came close to a whole bottle. I only ever reach the half-way point of the bottle. Except with clear and black polish, which I use so often.
34I don't think I've ever finished a bottle of nailpolish in my life. They get too gloppy by the last 20% of the bottle - AND - if you are really trying to finish it the brush can never truly get to the bottom so you have to lay the bottle on it's side and that's a pain.
I don't go nuts with polish - I have a bunch mainly because the colors were not right and I can't bear to throw them out (last years purples just weren't happening!). I just spent the last 4 months on OPI's "Vodka and Caviar" (a nice Christmas-Valentines Day red!) - and even though I've applied it every week (multiple times!) for 4 months - there is still 20% left in the bottle. I like that - at $9.00 a bottle I appreciate that!
I've come close to finishing a bottle - but never actually did!!
35I don't finish them, no way! There is so many new ones to try all the time! And I always get very cheap brands which work as good as expensive ones so I don't feel bad about it
36I never have finished a bottle, it is such a waste!
37Sometimes I finish a bottle if I really love the color, or if I paint things other than my nails.
38Just finished one last week and I'm almost done with my red revlon one. I tend to ALWAYS have my nails painted.
39Weird, I've never. Whats the shelf life on these things anyways?
40By the time you get half way through the bottle the polish turns extra gooey. I wonder if there's something you can buy to help revive and old bottle -- you know, like the nail salons do.
41for those who get to the end and its gloppy and thick..take some clear or white polish and pour it in and make a new color. I have thrown away very few and used them till the end- if its a color I do not like i may use it for a craft project but it never gets tossed.
