Do You Go Without Eye Makeup?

According to a new consumer study by Harris Interactive, 67 percent of women between ages 18 and 34 think that wearing "no eye makeup at all" is a cool beauty trend to follow. I'm kind of surprised by those numbers, given how few people I know are willing to leave the house without a coat of mascara. While I'm sure the Harris study's methods were sound, I'm not sure about the people they polled. So I propose we conduct a little study of our own. I wanna know: Do you go without eye makeup? And if so, do you do it because you think it's a cool trend, or because sometimes you just don't feel like it?

Same as ^. I wear eye liner and mascara most of the time to look and feel more alive.

I wear eye liner and mascara all the time. I tried not wearing eye makeup , but I look too pale and washed out without it.

i just don't feel the need to put on makeup every time I leave the house. I like not wearing any sometimes.

i rarely wear eye makeup. i often have an uneven skin tone from blemishes, so i spend most of my time/energy/money. i think since my face is usually a little made up i like to relax on everything else. plus, eyelashes seem so thin and tender, i don't want to harass them all the time with extra stuff.

going without eye makeup makes me look sleepy, tired and really pale....at least some eyeliner and mascara

I used to always have to wear mascara, but then I started getting my eyelashes dyed black. I have blonde eyelashes, so people always asked me if I was sick when I wasn't wearing any makeup. Now I go to a salon and they tint my eyelashes dark, dark, black and now I only wear under-eye concealer and sometimes blush.

i go without and thinks it's cool but only because i was too lazy/didn't want to wash my face with eye make-up remover/didn't feel like 30min in the shop is worth it.

I only wear eye makeup if I'm going to work. On my 2 off days, I usually don't bother because I don't have the time! I go to college on my off days and most everyone is way under dressed, so I don't feel out of place. I would never not wear eye makeup because it's "cool."

I wear eye makeup sometimes, but for the most part, I go bare. It's not so much because I'm lazy or because I think it makes me cool, but more just because I'm comfortable with the way my eyes look, and think that makeup-free looks better on most people anyway, unless you're going to be photographed, which can come out looking a little scary. Plus, my boyfriend lives in a different town than I do, so who am I trying to impress? And even if he didn't, it's not like he's never seen me w/o it before. It's more like I just put it on if I feel like being glamorous.

I can definitely go without eye makeup and up until about a year ago, my face was completely bare. Now, I use an eyelash curler and a coat of mascara for day-to-day and, on the occasion that I want a little extra oomph!, I use the gold eye pencil from Benefit (dark liners don't suit me). I hate heavy eye makeup though.

Bella, you're questioning the validity of the Harris study because you're "not sure of the people they polled", yet you want to compare their results by posting a similar survey on a website frequented by women interested in make-up and beauty! :P I don't think you needed this poll to prove that your readers wear eye makeup.

It depends on my mood. Somedays I think I look just as beautiful without makeup. I always wear sunscreen, but sometimes that's all I put on my skin. When I feel like I need it, I take the time to apply a full face.

Yes, I go without eye make-up. I don't wear any make-up. However, sometimes people think I have make-up on, even my dermatologist.

Had a severe case of dry eye syndrome years ago and had to get tear duct implants. I was always tearing and couldn't wear makeup for years. Finally got permanent makeup and love it. I'm lucky I have long, black lashes, so I don't wear mascara, but if I do one thing with my face, it's to curl my lashes! Total time saver!

I wear it when I go out, or if I have time in the morning. I'd wear mascara but my allergy-eyes hate it. I have super long eyelashes and in theory I think mascara would be nice, but I can't deal with the itchiness & irritation that starts halfway through the day. I used to not be able to leave the house without eyeliner, but as I've gotten older I think I look better without it. I still wear tons of fun makeup for clubbing though. :)

Even though eyes are my favourite part to makeup, I only do it about twice a week, or less. Mostly because I like the bare look, but also because I feel I won't be able to get away with it when I'm older, so I must enjoy it while I can!

I find I can get away with no eye makeup since I wear dark-rimmed glasses and I have dark eyelashes. If I go to a club or something, I'll put in my contacts and wear makeup.

I never wore eye makeup in my early to mid '20s, but then I found it helped me look a bit more alert! Except on the weekends, I always have at least a little...though eyeliner usually seems like too much trouble.

I love eye makeup and I usually wear it if I'm going out. I enjoy a little bit of self expression and try to see if I can come up with new and pleasing color combinations. Not to mention I have blonde eyelashes and if I don't put on mascara I look like an alien. ha

I rarely wear eye makeup, but I'm a stay at home Mom with two kids. I play with them all day and kiss on them, I don't want a bunch of makeup getting on them. When I did work, I would wear makeup to work, but not on the weekends. But I do put a little on when I go out on a date with the hubby or to a party.

Unless I'm not leaving the house or at the gym, I always have makeup on. Shadow, liner and mascara. It's way too fun not too! I wear a different color combo every day. It's amazing how much bigger and prettier my eyes look with it, so I'm hooked. My dream is to have every MAC shadow! I'm slowly getting there :)

I tend to go without eye makeup a lot in the summer, cause i'm lazy, its hot, and i'm tanner so i don't use as much make up at all. once the weather starts getting cold, i find myself using more eye makeup!
