Do You Have Salon Loyalty or Stylist Loyalty?

How far is too far to go? When it comes to my hair, I'm willing to do many things (within reason) to get a style I love, but I'd bet few people take things as far as Curly Bella. She prefers to travel clear across the country for a chop and color. While some stick with a top salon, and trust all employees are well worth the business, others will travel to a new salon, often further away, to meet with the same person as before.

Whether or not you'd be following a favorite stylist across the country or just across town, does your loyalty lie with anyone at a preferred salon or one particular person, no matter what?

I have found out the hard way, it pays to stay loyal to a stylist who understands your needs and does a great job. I used to stray when I would hear of a cheaper salon or stylist. Much to my regret, I learned that you basically get what you pay for. Sticking with what works is the way to go.

Stylist...let me explain. I'm loyal to individuals...salons are not living things, they're just companies in certain locations, they can't cut your hair. I don't care if my stylist is in some mom and pop shop or at a fancy hairstyling salon. I just want someone good cutting and coloring my hair. I have a stylist that I'm loyal to after trying out other stylists at several name brand salons, and I've gone back to her now because she's the best at cutting my hair. My stylist is this lady that owns her own hairstyling place with a partner. I'm a quiet customer though. I don't gab about my life to my hairstylist but she always does a good job and I tip her each time. =) btw, I don't think its "wrong" if a person likes going to several stylists or several salons. You have to do what's right for your budget and for your hair.

I'm salon loyal. Every stylist in the salon is one of the best in the industry. Any one of them may work on my hair any day.

I love my stylist but if she's not available when I need her I go to someone else at the salon. They are all great but I prefer her, she's been cutting my hair for years and knows what will look best on me when we talk about how I want it cut.

I'm loyal to one stylist. I've followed her through 4 salons, two of which she owned. She is the one who did my hair for my wedding (ten years ago next week!), and now cuts my husband's and son's hair as well. She also did the honors when my daughter donated her hair to Locks of Love. She's great.

My mom and I followed our stylist to her new salon when she opened her own shop. I have since switched to another stylist who did my hair for both my junior and senior prom, and was available when my old stylist had to cut her hours while pregnant with twins. My new stylist is also only a couple years older than me, which is helps us connect over younger styles.

I'm stylist loyal, I've been going to the same stylist for over 10 years and 4 salons. Before her, I had the same stylist for about 15 years until he moved out of state.

if they did a good job i'd keep going. the problem is, i've never found a salon or stylist that has earned my loyalty for more than a few visits. i try to go at least twice unless they really are awful. in that case, i stay away after the 1st visit. there was this one girl that i loved. i only got to go to her once because, a few months later, she left the salon and i've never been able to find her. this was in 2002 and i still regret not getting her number.

I'm loyal to my stylist, Josh. Both my sister and I have been going to him for years and have moved salons with him. Also I am loyal to my favorite stylists in Spain, Carlos y Eduardo. Everytime I am there, I have to go see them.

I am stylist loyal. I have started locing my hair and she knows how to work with my soft 3C/4A hair. She also uses all natural products, which is big for me. She is also extremely well priced and will throw in a style for free every once in a while.

I was stylist loyal, but while I was away at university(I only go home for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and reading week), she had left the salon without contacting me!!! I was so upset, but I'm loyal to the salon because they're award winning and every stylist is extremely talented.

I have stylist loyalty. I have been going to the same stylist for color/cuts sine I was 7! (I'm 23 now) However, when I want a blowout/updo I go to a different stylist. My longterm stylist is amazing at color/cuts but not so much blow outs.

I was loyal to a stylist (and salon, since he owned it) but then I moved. No one can cut my hair like him. He was simply the best! Even though I no longer live in the state, I definitely tell everyone he is amazing. Now, in this state, there is no loyalty -- because everyone screws up my hair.

I am more salon loyal. I never have conversations with the person doing my hair so as long as they do the style I paid for I am good. I should be able to walk into the salon, ask for a style, and I don't care who does it but they should be able to do. If one person at the salon doesn't do my hair properly then I no longer go back because if they hire people who suck its a sign the salon now sucks.

I'm fairly loyal to my stylist, the only time I went anywhere different was when I was getting free cuts and colour from a very upscale salon. She totally understood! Changing stylists can be like adultery, all the lying and sneaking around. ;)
