With all the barrettes, scrunchies, banana, and butterfly clips we could gather, my BFF and I took turns seeing who could create the craziest hairstyle as kids. Although it's rare I slow down enough to smell the Salon Selectives these days (ha), there's still something refreshing about playing at-home beauty shop.
I know I'm not the only one who spent childhood afternoons this way and, I'm not embarrassed to admit, it can still be a fun way to pass the time while watching movies with my mom or sister when I'm home for vacation. Although nowadays we focus on wild updos and other how-tos that are hard to re-create all alone, do you still like people (read: nonprofessionals) doing your hair?

I love it when my hair gets played with. I only let people with clean hands do it though, my hair gets really gross and greasy if it's touched too much.

2I agree with Le Luxe. It really feels like a massage. Plus if it's a friend, it's fun to chat and catch up while doing so. I love it.
3Since people can't really do anything with my hair when I wear it normally, there's not much point in playing with it. Even when I go to a salon, chances are they don't even know what to do with it.
Since I wear it a la sheep butt, I've met plenty of people who haven't met someone who wears their hair like that, and they say "oh, it looks *so* soft!" and I see their hand shoot out to touch/grab it. I'm not sure what I think about that, but I've become very adept at quickly yelling "it really isn't and it's pretty oily!"
4No no no. I have curly hair and I'm really picky about my curls, I hate it when people decide they want to play with my hair and start combing my curls with their hands - it just gets all puffy!
5I have always let one of my closest friends, Jason, do my hair in crazy styles with clips and hair ties.

I find hairdressers a tad too agressive but also my boyfriend has a habbit of playing with it at the WRONG time.... like when its freshly washed and styled.!

14I agree it is relaxing, but the only ppl I let play in my hair is my boyfriend and my best friend. Sometimes I don't even like my own mother touching my hair. I am not much of a touchy feely person so I am not comfortable with just anybody playing in my hair.

16I really like when people play with my hair, it's very relaxing. Although my funniest "hair-playing" moment to date happened when the boy who sat behind me in AP Bio put my hair in a bunch of little braids. Literally. He spent the entire class period braiding my hair. Just for fun. I don't think he learned anything about the Krebs Cycle that day...
17It's so relaxing. I have an ex that would play with my hair for as long as I wanted. Just like massage and move it around, he didn't actually try to tease it or style it. lol

19i love it! my hair is pretty easy maintenance, so i don't really care about it getting messed up. it doesn't have to involve creating an actual hairstyle, i just love to massage part i think.
20My guy yes. But when I was a kid with thick, wavy hair down to my waist NO! I hated it so I cut it. To this day I hate when other people mess with my hair, I do it all myself.
21If you have curly or frizzy hair there is absolutely nothing relaxing about it. Though I like to play with other people's hair.

28It depends on who. Friends, loved ones, and hairdresser -- okay. Strangers or acquaintances -- no.
29My hair is hip-length, and while I don't mind if it's touched, I don't like having it styled in any way by other people because they don't know HOW to do it. Most people don't know how to work with hair longer than bra strap length, and even something as simple as brushing is painful and causes unnecessary damage. Sometimes even professional hairdressers can't comb my hair properly. There's no way I'd allow an amateur near my hair unless her own is waist-length or longer.

I can see when you've just gotten it done or when you've just showered and you don't want it getting greasy, but you dont like it EVER? That's new to me, having my hair brushed or played with is one of my favorite things:)!
33I've never liked having my hair played with, even since I was a little kid. I would never let my mom do my hair, or I was never very happy about it. I've recently figured that for me it's kind of a more intimate thing, so in my head I guess I wouldn't mind if a guy I was dating was playing with it, but I donno. I'm a little weird.

It's absolutely not relaxing for me! lol. But maybe that's because my hair gets tangled easily, and other people playing with my hair/styling my hair usually results in chunks of hair being ripped from my scalp. lol.

39No! My curly hair cannot be "played" with after it's fixed. It will get so tangled and gnarly. Ever since I was a kid, people play with my hair without asking. Why!??!
40I pretty much only let my sister play with my hair.
41When I was in middle school, some kid put bubblegum in my hair under the guise of admiring it. Since then, I only let trusted girlfriends (and occasional younger cousins) touch my locks.
42If there is one thing other than food that I get actual, serious cravings for, it's getting my hair played with!!
