Do You Prefer Your Nail Polish With or Without Shimmer?

I'm not sure why, but I am much more inclined to put a shimmery polish on my toes than on my nails. There's something distracting about having luminosity on my fingertips that deters me every time I'm about to give myself a manicure. Do you have a strong preference toward plain or glittery nail varnishes?

I liked shimmers when I was younger, but now I usually can't stand them. They look dated. Crèmes all the way, with lots of shine. I like my nails to look like perfect glossy pieces of plastic candy. I do like glitter. (NOT shimmer, real glitter.) But most true glitter nail polish is really gross and chunky--if I want that sparkle I just put loose glitter over semi-dry polished nails. I don't do it that often because it's a lot more work than plain polish but it looks really good. :)

I prefer a creme nailpolish. I'm not much for shimmer, glitter, metallic, or pearlescent polish. Occasionally I'll don something with a very faint pearl or shimmer, but usually I just stick to creme.

I like sparkles, it ups the glam factor for me. I usually go with subtle shades though.

I like the matte polish. I sometimes like shimmer, but I completely hate the ones with sparkle in them. They are so hard to remove, glitter gets everywhere, and they don't even look that good. So I never use the glitter polish.

Sometimes shimmer is okay... I like matte the best.... glitter is gross though and makes me feel 12 years old.

I have a glitter top coat from OPI that I wear alone on my fingernails, it's not too much, just enough. Toes are always red, no glitter or shimmer. :)
