Do You Stick With One Stylist?

Pretty Penélope Cruz just got a bang-up haircut from Beverly Hills stylist Chris McMillan. The in-demand guru is the man behind most of Jennifer Aniston's "Friends" cuts, and he's also snipped the hair of Courteney Cox and Rebecca Romijn. Word on the street is that Penélope is loyal to Chris—and frankly, if my hair wound up looking like hers all the time, I'd stick with him, too.

Unfortunately, I recently moved thousands of miles away from my favorite stylist. Now I'm searching for a new one, going from one salon to the next until I find the right fit. Do you do this, too? Or, like Penélope, do you tend to find one stylist and stay?

Hair means too much for me to have any and everyone in my scalp. However, I do like styling other people's hair.

my mom;s good friend is a hairstylist and she has done my hair my entire life, but she's moving away in spring of 2008. I do not desperately rely on her, but I am afraid for my hair's well-being.

I have mine done every 6-7 weeks at a training college - I cant afford to get it done anywhere else !

If you find someone that gets to know your hair, stick with them. My girl of 4 years moved to Colorado:( who moves to colorado and now i'm searching all over again. DON'T do it stick with your favorite

I am currently in cosmetology school and I can say that honestly the best thing you can do for your hair is to be loyal to your stylist. He or she will really get to know your hair and can know exactly what you want whenever you go in. Personally I hardly ever have my hair cut(I do it myself) but I cannot afford to go to someone who will do a great job on my hair so I always end up getting it butchered and messed up. I'm hoping that one of the ladies in my class will prove to be a great stylist who I will work wonders on my hair.

When I was 18 or 19 I used to go to this guy by my job, his name was Kazu and he was amazing!!! I changed jobs and moved around and when I finally went back he was gone :( But, about 3 years ago I went to a new salon to find a great colorist (and I did..hee) and I needed a haircut and so I just told them to give me anyone since I was new...well wouldn't ya know it Kazu worked there!!! So 12 or 13 years later I had the same guy giving me great cuts!!! LOL!!! I'm never going to anyone else :)

I was with the same stylist for five years. She gave me great haircuts, styles,prices, and colorings. I moved away so I had to find someone new but I already have someone new I plan on staying with without trying stylist after stylist. I went up to someone with an amazing haircut and style asked who they went to.

i've been going to the same stylist for the past five years. he just opened his own salon and i have to fight to get appointments now. i don't know what i'll do if he leaves philly! probably cry.

When a was younger I always had the same hairdresser as my mother, and unfortunately she jumps from hairdresser to hairdresser like anything :-S I'm older now and you would think I'd be able to choose my own hairedresser, but I find it way too embarassing to go back to the same hairdresser and have them ask 'So, how is your mum? We haven't seen her in a while...' so I always end up moving with her!

I used to work at a day spa at the front desk, so I intimately got to know each stylist and their habits, strengths and weaknesses. So, depending on what kind of cut i want, I see that specific stylist that is very good at it. It's fun because I get time to catch up with everyone and I get a fab haircut no matter what :-D

I used to jump around to different stylists & salons, but I found a master stylist who's awesome & cuts hair for a great price! So I will stick with her. :)

I stayed with one stylist for years until I was ready to make a big change (chopping off my hair), and, after a few months with short hair, I wanted to try something (and somebody) new. I really, really adore my new stylist and I've gotten tons of compliments on my hair. I've also done some hair modeling, too, so I've gotten great inexpensive highlights/dyeing. (The haircut I got hair modeling, however, sent me running back to my stylist going, "Fix it!")

I LOVE my stylist (I've been with her for 3 years - and about a zillion hairstyle changes), but I'm moving in a few days! I change stylists when I move, until I find one that I like.

1love, I am so jealous! I can't cut hair worth beans, particularly not my own! I have found the most fabulous stylist though, I have followed her for 11 years and through 3 salon changes! She has hair a lot like mine, so no matter what I ask for she has a good idea of how to make it happen! Love her!

there has been times where i have tried a different stylist... but i never come out as happy as i do when the one that i always go back to!! soo in the end i have just decided to stick with her!! she is amazing! :)

every time i move i have to start the search over for the perfect stylist who understands both my hair texture and my personal style. before moving to atlanta, i had a girl i had been with in cincinnati for 3 years. i even tried to book an appt with her on a trip home because my search here had been fruitless thus far, but she had moved away, which did induce some tears of frustration, i'm not ashamed to admit. after 3 years of searching, i FINALLY found my perfect stylist here, and now i'll only book with him.

i stick to one stylist, my brother's best friend, he can do magic to my hair and it not an easy thing to do.
