Do You Think You Spend Too Much on Beauty?

We already know that dudes don't spend very much on grooming, but that's not necessarily the case when it comes to us. According to a new YWCA study, Beauty At Any Cost, American women spend $7 billion a year on cosmetic procedures and items. That averages out to about $100 a month for each woman — though certainly some big spenders are making up for the low-maintenance beauties out there. Can you breeze through a Benjamin in a weekend or do you think it sounds excessive?

Only in basic hygiene products (Deodorant, Hands Body Feet Lotions, Wax, Conditioner, Floss, Towels, perfumes,etc)it's over a hundred dollars every month.Not counting make up and other treatments! I need a rise!!!LOL

If I had more money to spend, I'd spend it. Since I don't I spend that much. I did splurge at Sephora last month though!

i think i spend a lot of money on beauty products, but i have slowed down on the spending, cause i used to have to go to the mall for school, so i don't spend that much anymore, i used to spend $100 or more on beauty products it's crazy

I spend WAY WAY too much at Sephora and Holt Renfew...I love MAKEUP and perfume! I also like clothes, bags, shoes, lol :P

I don't spend $100 month on beauty products at all. I use what I've got. I get makeup whenever I see a color that I like or I've run out of makeup.

Not on anti-aging potions and the such but makeup and body products, you can never spend too much. ;)

I just use cleanser and moisturizer on my face. Then very minimal make-up. I think each year I spend about 180$. Benefit is my weakness though so I try to stay away from Sephora!

Depends on what kind you mean...I'm a make-up minimalist; all I use is a good skin toner and moisturizer, and sometimes mascara and lipgloss. But I'm a huge sucker for anything to do with fragrance; perfume samples, Bath & Body Works lotions and creams, The Body Shop butters and scrubs...these things can really turn me into a spendthrift.

I don't THINK I spend too much on beauty products, I KNOW I do!!! I love going to Sephora and Ulta (and even CVS) and browsing the makeup and haircare aisles...I can be in there for hours! And I never leave empty-handed, even when I don't "need" any new products.

Oh indeed... such fantastic timing, as I've been saving up for more than a month and am about to go splurge massively on the MAC Cult of Cherry collection.... to the tune of at least $150, if not more... *sigh*
