Do You Use Each Color in Your Eye Shadow Palettes?

Recently, I learned a tip from La Prairie's Color Ambassador, Raychel Wade. It's so obvious, yet so incredibly true. She says:

When it comes to eye shadow quads, don't feel pressured to use all four colors in a quad at once. Sometimes eye makeup looks just a pretty with one simple hue.

Like I said before, it's obvious, yes. However, this got me to thinking about my own habits. For some reason or another, I feel pressure to use most — if not all — colors in my own multishadow palettes. I suppose I feel like they're all there for a reason, working in perfect harmony, you dig? What about you: do you work with all of the shades in your quads, or do just use one simple hue?

I usualy blend a dark shade with a light I wet my brush and eyeshadow for a more bold and dramatic look

I use 3 everytime. I usually end up running out of the middle color since I use it over most of my eye and then have to go buy that color in a one pack. I use the lightest just under the brow and the darkest at the outer corner.

I usually wear the lighter colors by themselves, and then if I need a darker or more dramatic look, I'll use the other colors. I normally wear 2-3 eye shadows at a time, but their almost never part of the same quad. I wish quads gave a more of the lighter color and less of the darker colors since I always run out of the light color before I'm halfway through the darks! Argh!

Forget the makeup, I want the enjoy a millionaire lifestyle.<a></a>But seriously, now that I think about it, I almost never do. It's not to be a rebel :P, but most of the time I find that the colors of a look I'm going for are all separated for some reason.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no - it depends on the look i'm going for.

I almost always use all colors, and sometimes leave one off - never thought to limit this to just one or two.

I'll use one or two, but never more. If I do use more I look ridiculous! I do wish I could pull it off though.

Sometimes I'll just use a lighter shade by itself, sometimes I'll go ahead and add a darker color for some smokyness, and sometimes I'll go ahead and pile them all on. It really does depend.

it depends. sometimes I use one or two of the colors, and sometimes all of them.

depends on the look i'm trying to get! but i often use them together, since it's quick and easy. no worries about whether the colors work well with each other.
