Do You Use Your Mascara Past the Expiration Date?

Did you know that mascara should be replaced every three months? I admit, in the past I've used mine when it's past its prime (but now I'm much better about it). Are you guilty of doing this, too?

I thought mascara expires in 6 months but I've had my Mac X for more than a year. I know, but I switch off between 3 other mascaras (Mac Pro Lash, Maybelline Lash Discovery, and Diorshow)...all of which is over 3 months old (except Diorshow, only about 1 month old)...is that bad?

i get rid of it when it gets clumpy & gross. i use it everday, so it doesn't last past the 4-5 month mark anyway.

I NEVER check for exp. dates! I guess I should. The only time I get rid of old makeup is when it runs out. I used to keep pink eye in HS and had to get all new makeup every other month or so. That got annoying and expensive!

Never....there's nasty bacteria that grows in an expired mascara that can sometimes cause really bad eye infections or blindness.That's the reason why they have expiration dates.

I usually use all the mascara before it hits the expiration date...That's the one make up item I don't think I could ever live without!

I *try* and keep track of expiration dates... I generally know becuse if starts to get all flaky and crappy :)

Keep track!!!! I am a tomboy by heart except when I go to the an occasional "super" party or ball. So I don't wear makeup nor mascara often. Which is why I got a HUGE eye infection after using mascara that was possibly old. Nasty! I'm PR and a big eye is not cute when you are in the public. No eye damage, but it took two weeks to heal! The best way is to literally clean your brush off everytime with a cleaner per each use (This is how makeup artist keep their products clean.) Sounds like a lot of trouble but well worth it!!!
