Does Your Mate Know the Extent of Your Routine?

One day a while back, I woke up early and go ready while Mr. Bella was still sleeping. By the time the alarm went off, I had finished applying my makeup, and I'd taken a little more time than usual. "You're so pretty," said Mr. Bella. "I love the fact that you don't wear a lot of makeup." Aw. (Little did he know that I'd just applied a serum, sunblock, eye cream, primer, tinted moisturizer, concealer, blush, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara and a lip stain.) So I've got to know: Do you think your honey has any idea about how long it takes you to get ready?

My boyfriend doesn't have a clue how much goes into my beauty routine both time-wise and money-wise. He knows I use makeup though, otherwise why would my purse weigh ten pounds? He does notice eyeliner and eyeshadow though and says he likes the way eyeliner makes my eyes look, especially when I do the cat eye style, he loves that!

My boyfriend thinks it takes me forever to put on my makeup. What he doesn't know is that it actually only takes me about five to ten minutes to apply my makeup, the rest of the time is skin care.

I don't use skin products except some cleanser, scrub, and moisturizer with spf.... so he knows about all of those, because he sees me do it. He also knows what kind of makeup I put on (usually foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, bronzer and/or a tiny bit of blush, mascara, lip gloss and a bit of eyeliner if I'm going out or feeling especially fancy.) I don't think my beauty routine is that ridiculous, so I don't hide it from him. It takes me about 30 minutes to an hour to get ready to go out depending on if I straighten my hair. However, I don't go into great detail about what I get done at the salon... he does know that I LOVE going there... but when I do go, I usually spend several hours (hair, pedicure, manicure, eyebrows, facial) so I don't subject him to that! It's me time!

i love all these comments!! hilariousim single and lovin it at the moment, but i would say that when dating someone, i dont mind him seeing all my stuff but i probably wouldnt put a lot of it on in front of him. i mean, maybe mascara, blush lip gloss, but nono to tinted moisturizer, concealer, foundation, all that stuff. i also wouldnt mind being seen without makeup.

My boy knows and prefers me when I have no makeup on at all (granted I get my eyelashes permed and tinted so they look fab all the time). When he's in the bathroom with me at night I make sure that I put cream on his face as he works as a plumber and is outdoors a lot I don't want him to age too quickly!! I also swim and sail heaps and so can't wear makeup so he knows what I look like without anything on. Its nice and refreshing.

Since I've been in my relationship, I've become WAY less high-maintenance. He goes to a different school in another state, and when I stay with him, it's a weekend/week with the boys. I used to primp a lot, but after getting comfortable, I just don't as often. I think I get more dressed up for my friends and family than I do for him.Not to say that I don't enjoy making special occasions to knock him out with a surprise display of primped girliness.

I voted for other, because I don't really use that much makeup. Just some eyeliner, occasionally mascara and lip balm or gloss! Sometimes I don't use anything at all! And he really doesn't mind. He says he likes me better with no makeup. And yes, he can tell the difference! I feel more comfortable with no makeup on around him anyway! Cause he said that he'll love me no matter what i look like =)

i don't think my boyfriend really knows exactly how much time i put into getting ready, he definitely hasn't seen my tons of beauty products! there are some things i don't really like boys to know about...such as hair removal, haha! also, my cellulite creams tend to stay hidden. i just had my tonsils out friday though, so my beauty routine has been pretty much nonexistent (i can't really go much beyond showering, i think i have a valid excuse), so he's definitely seen me at my worst now! unless he's an idiot, i'm sure he realizes it takes work for me to look like i normally do, as opposed to how i've been looking lately!!

My ex knew the basics for the most part, generally what makeup I wore and how long it took me. Typically because the majority of my routine was done in his car :p

I know it's time for me to take some personal "me" time when I look in the mirror and notice I haven't been taking care of my eyebrows. Somehow, I feel funny plucking in front of other people. Otherwise, putting on mascara or lipgloss in front of him doesn't bug me.

he knows there is lots of bottles and compacts and things to knock over in the bathroom........he also knows that my clinic soap is not to be used on his backside......We have learned this one the hard way:)

well, considering we've been together for 7 years now he certainly knows. I use a ton of products, but I can do my make-up routine in about 15 mins. My hair and outfits are another story, especially if I am having 'one of those days'!

My husband is worse than I am. I'm very simplistic unless I feel like spending time on my look and then I go all out.
