US Surgeon General Dr. Regina Benjamin stopped by the 2011 Bronner Brothers Hair Show, which is host to over 60,000 hairstylists, to talk about something that a lot of us are guilty of: skipping exercise because we don't want to ruin our hair. For African-American women in particular, going to the gym and maintaining hairstyles can be difficult, which is why Dr. Benjamin decided to make an appearance at the hair show — she wanted to talk with stylists about creating more exercise-friendly hairstyles for their African-American clients.
