Easy DIY Sequin Headband Tutorial

DIY Holiday Beauty: Make a Sequin Headband in Seconds

Sometimes it's OK to embellish. For some that may mean calling store-bought potato salad their own just by sprinkling paprika on it. But in terms of beauty (and in this case) it means taking advantage of slip-on, removable headband embellishments. Just start out with the headband "base" of your choice — we used the soft silver shade from Julie Comstock's trio of light, glittery headbands ($6) — and thread onto a headband accessory patch. Note: these adornments are readily available at most fabric stores, and are designed with presewn strips for quick and easy slide-on attachment.

For a similar option as pictured in our photo, try Simplicity's silver sequin leaves headband accessory ($4). Not only is this project inexpensive, but since it's customizable, you can get lots of looks out of just one headband. They're travel-friendly, too, as the components can be separated and stored in an instant.
