With Independence Day just around the corner, people will be showing off their patriotism in lots of different ways — flag waving, parades, barbecues, and, yes, makeup. There will be people sporting face paint, flag-hued manicures, and all manner of variations on red lipstick, white eyeliner, and blue eye shadow.

It's always cute on little kids, who get an understandable free pass for this sort of thing. When you're an adult, do you think getting all made up for the holiday is still sweet and fun, or just kind of corny?

I've never done this, but I totally would. It's cheesy of course but cute and silly. It's not like the fourth is a particularly refined holiday anyway!

It's cute! Come on, when else does a Serious Adult get to paint her face so outlandishly? There's Halloween, but that's about it. I enjoy any chance I get to be a little bit silly and a little bit childish and still have it be socially acceptable.

If you're a kid, then it's cute. For an adult probably not so much, unless you're going to an event when you're supposed to look the part. I've never seen people wear makeup for July 4th.
it's definitely cheesy, but that's part of the fun!

It depends on where you're going! Sure, it's corny, and I don't do anything like that, but sometimes it could be cute too, at the right event.
