French Beauty Baron Yves Rocher Has Died
by POPSUGAR Beauty 1
Yves Rocher, known for his line of botanically based beauty, died of a stroke on Saturday. Although the Yves Rocher brand was best known in France and Canada, it's maintained an understated but sizable following in the United States as well. Rocher founded his company 50 years ago, creating a line of plant-based skin care that has since expanded to encompass makeup and hair care. (An underpublicized bonus: most products are vegan.) A recipient of the prestigious Légion d'honneur award, Rocher also served as mayor of La Gacilly, where the company has a botanical garden that's open to the public. His grandson, Bris Rocher, will now take over the company as president.
