Gray Hair — Pluck It or Leave It?

Whenever a pesky gray pops up here and there, a not-so-nice phrase sounding quite similar to pluck it comes to mind. Ah, those gray hairs. We all get them — they're just an inevitable part of the aging process. Mr. Bella in particular gets them now and then, and when I reach for the tweezers, he never seems too pleased. What do you do about the occasional gray hair?

I cut it close to the root - I'm too lazy to dye just those one or two strands every time I find them!

lucky for me - i'm blonde so i don't really see gray hairs - but i think that i would choose to leave them and then get my hair highlighted. my fiance has gray hairs and he puts something in his hair to cover it up - rather than plucking

I've never had a gray hair but I'd color them anyway. My husband has quite a few because his hair is so dark you really see them. We used to tweeze them and then we realized that it's easier to just keep his hair short and then they aren't noticeable. Since I'm a beauty school dropout I know how to cut his hair and can color it subtly when it gets out of control.

I have flecks of lovely silver appearing in my deep brown, thick mane. I love them - each and every one is a badge of honor, is a mark of wisdom earned. We live in a culture where people don't even really KNOW what aging looks like as we all rush to make ourselves look like teenagers - the worst decision makers in our culture. I'm not going to emulate childhood and feed cultural pedophilia. I'm going to look my age, so more people will know what my age looks like!

I have a few gray hairs, but I am tired of dyeing my hair. My hair can't take it any more. I use John Frieda hair glaze (brunette) a few times a week to "de-emphasize" the gray. I'm determined to age gracefully.

I'm only 20 and get the occasional "grey hair" in my eyebrows. I ignore them and tell my mother that I've gotten another "albino hair"- she thinks it's quirky, and has started using the phrase too!

I probably do have some gray hairs, because my mother's side of the family tends to gray early, but I can't see them because my natural hair color is so light anyway. When I do go gray I'll probably keep the color, because both my mom and grandfather have that beautiful pure-white gray and it looks nice on them.(Also, as my mom says, gray is the new blonde!)

I'm 27 and I've only had one (the week before my most recent birthday, right in the middle of my bangs)...that sucker was gone the moment I spotted it! My family goes white, not gray, but my mother doesn't remember when her hair color changed because she's been dyeing for so long. I'm hoping to stave it off for at least another 8 years.

I found just one while I was blow drying my hair, and it was pretty long! But I left it--if you pluck it, it will be shorter than the rest of the hair, and will actually stick out while its growing back in (it was near the top of my head)! Plus I saw it once and was never able to find it again. So I assume other people won't be able to see it anyway!

Dye it! I've shown stray grays here and there since my late 20s, but I color so frequently you'd never knwo it. Honestly? Once my hair starts to go gray in earnest, I might look to just enhance the color (hopefully I'll inherit my grandmother's silver-white, and not a yellowy-gray). I kind of like the way well-maintained silver hair looks. Mind you, I'm hoping this holds off until I'm in my late 50s...if it starts graying tomorrow, I might feel differently! As an aside, my husband is over 50% gray and he just turned 30. He doesn't mind and neither do I - it also means we win carnival prizes because the "guess your age" people always miss his by 10 years!

I pluck... and pluck... and pluck. I have SO many grey hairs, it's so depressing, especially since I just turned 25. Definitely genetic... my mother turned grey at 24. But everyone who has ever styled my hair has told me to hold off as long as possible on dying it, since my hair has never been colored and apparently it causes your hair to lose a lot of its natural luster and shine. Sigh.

Dont pluck your hair! One gray hair isnt even noticeable, dont go hysterical over it and pluck it out. If it is noticeable, just dye it!

I haven't seen any gray hairs yet (I'm 29 with very light hair) but I would NOT pluck them! That'll leave you bald. Better to go gray a little more and then decide if you want to go the dyeing route.
