Just when you thought you'd seen all the It hairstyles you could see for 2013, Rihanna, Jessica Paré, and Camilla Belle showed off a new trend. Short hair, loads of layers, and a set of heavy fringe are all aspects of this vaguely '70s crop. Rihanna was the most recent celebrity to adopt the style, and she showed off the cut first on her Instagram. Jessica channeled her inner Jane Birkin at an event last week, while Camilla spearheaded the trend almost two weeks ago. We're loving the disco-gal vibe of this hairstyle, and Fall is the perfect time to cut your bangs, but would you wear this trend yourself?

Everyone is talking about weaves this year. Did Beyoncé just take out her extensions or really cut her hair? (Yes, that's a weave.) How much did Oprah's Afro wig weigh? (It was 3.5 pounds!) Are women in Venezuela truly getting mugged for their hair? (Sadly, this fact is true.) The hair-extensions industry is a billion-dollar business. Box braids, wigs, clip-ins, sew-ins — it's all fake, but we're cracking open the can of worms on this taboo topic, because the question everyone really wants answered is, "Is that a weave?" Keep reading to find out.
Sometimes you turn your hair oil bottle over and can't even pronounce the first ingredient. If it's a hair oil, shouldn't the first ingredient be . . . oil? With the PhytoSpecific Baobab Oil ($40), you don't have to worry. Castor oil, shea butter, and sunflower oil all make the list. However, the star ingredient is something you've likely never heard of: African baobab oil. It quickly hydrates a dry scalp (which is a primary Winter worry) and gets rid of the itch. I like to use it before I shampoo as a hot oil treatment. Then, I apply one drop to my scalp and ends every night to keep flakes away. It's so light, you don't have to worry about having greasy strands at the end of the week.
Kim Kardashian's blond hair has been one of the most talked-about hair updates of the year, and it seems Khloé liked it so much she copied the look. She was spotted recently with lightened strands from the middle of her hair to her ends but stayed brunette at the roots. While Kim's color is more caramel, Khloé took her highlights into much lighter territory. Which Kardashian blonde do you like best?
Our Pinterest feed is full of colorful hair inspirations — the pastel, dip-dyed kind — and L'Oréal Professionnel is bringing that look to the salon. The brand is launching Hairchalk, which comes in eight temporary shades like blue, pink, and green. "It allows us to go toward younger women, women who love changes, who aren't necessarily [attracted to coloring]," Ségolène de Noray, marketing director of L'Oréal Professionnel and Essie, told WWD.
The Hairchalk color fades after two to 10 washes, depending on your hair color, and will also be available for purchase in salons for at-home treatments. Brand ambassador Alexa Chung showed off her braided look accented with L'Oréal Professionnel's Hairchalk (pictured above) on Instagram. The collection hits European salons this month, while we'll have to wait until March to get it Stateside. Each bottle will retail for $24 and has up to 10 treatments.
It was a busy week for celebrity stylists! Three stars stepped out with new hair, whether it be a new cut or color. Dakota Johnson dyed her hair brunette for her role in Fifty Shades of Grey, while Claire Danes brought back her inner Angela Chase with her new red locks. And Jessica Paré tried out some new fringe on her dark hair for a fun, '60s vibe. All three took their spin in the stylist chair this week, but whose style change do you like best?
Last night, after an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman, Claire Danes stepped out with newly dyed hair. She ditched her longtime blond locks for a strawberry-blond hue, which was only enhanced by her bright red ensemble. The colder months are the perfect time to try out a darker hair color, and Claire made sure to darken her eyebrows to go with her new look, too. She complemented her new red hair color with a sexy smoky eye. We're loving this color swap on the Homeland star, but we want to know what you think!
Shailene Woodley turns 22 today, and the young actress has really turned into a budding beauty star. While she's always had hair to envy, it was Shailene's most recent chop (above) that had our tongues wagging. The Fault in Our Stars actress has shown us just how well she can pull off a mod pixie, among plenty of other styles. See our favorite beauty moments from Shailene below!

We love a girl with big hair, so we couldn't stop staring at Selena Gomez's voluminous half-up style for her performance on The X Factor last night. Dressed in a sexy leather outfit, Selena took the stage to perform her hit song "Slow Down." But it was her high-teased, curled-to-perfection coif that had us talking. Selena finished the look with bold brows, vampy lips, and inky black nail polish. See the whole look in action below!
