Have You Ever Had a Massage Go Too Far?

Last month, I told you about a new law in California that hopes to eliminate seedy massages by setting higher standards for massage therapists. I think we all know the "massage parlor" establishments from the truly legit ones. However, recently a friend told me of an occasion in which a massage therapist took it too far, brushing over areas of her body in inappropriate ways. From my perspective, an unwanted raunchy-style massage is unlikely at an established, legitimate location. But this got me to wondering if my friend's experience was just a freak thing, or does this actually happen more often than we think?

Perhaps the worst example was a Chinese place in a mall in New England. The lady, during the massage, pulled off my underwear as it apparently was getting in the way. But at times, my entire butt was exposed. Especially in a place like a crowded mall store with only having curtains blocking me from other therapists/people, I'd have to say I was more than a little uncomfortable.

This is a hard question to answer. The truth is, as a male, perhaps I'm a little more liberal than some of you....I have an immune disorder and I have no problem with my abs or butt being massaged - I am in pain everywhere. That said, I can tell you, in the course of 300 massages or so, I have been inappropriately touched or brushed, but it has always been accidental, so I just ignored it. I've had at least four therapists brush the top of my goods when massaging my abs, and had one therapist who went up both my legs a little too far, making contact with my scrotum. I never said anything though, because I was relaxed and I feel these were all accidental. It's not like anyone every actually grabbed me in a bad area - nothing was intentional. I probably also got accidentally exposed a few times but the therapist was working on another body part and did not realize what they had done, so they quickly adjusted the draping. Perhaps the draping was a little sloppy. Some people would be horrified by this, I really didn't care...I just wanted to relax and fee less pain and would not let an accident ruin my massage. I think females are far more defensive about this stuff, and probably for good reason.

I went to a Chinese place in the mall today and the (male) practitioner did seem to spend a lot of time on my butt. However, it was in front of an open storefront, so I just think I am being uptight.

I'm sorry but some of you are sooooo conservative. I always get massages by a variety of massage therapists. I have been to some of the best spa hotels around the world. ALL of my massages have been whilst I have been completely naked with the appropriate towelling. In some cases there was minimal toweling. I am a male, by what most of you are saying I have probably been innapropriately touched on all occasions! The people massaging me were undoubtedly proffesionals. They massaged my inner legs right up to the corner of my groin, stomach massage, chest massage, the lot. I didnt find it untoward because I know these women are not trying to feel me up. What I wonder is how difficult it is for some male massage therapists to work with you modest women without getting accused of innapropriate touching. Nipples and groins are off limits though! Bums, should remain an option, inner thigh = tell them to stop if they get too high for you.

To my surprise, after many, many massages in my life, a therapists actually went too far with me in November. Needless to say I was a little bit in a surreal experience, trying to make sure at first if it were an accident or not, but found out it wasn't. I am a 44 year old lady, great shape I must say, and the therapists is I would guess 30. While on my stomach and having my legs massaged he would accident brush between my legs, fast like massaging my thigh. When I turned over, I knew it was not a accident.

I wanted to try out a message place near where I was staying. Was a nice office in a downtown strip mall. I looked when I went in and he had all the permits and packs on the wall. Was a LMT so was thinking all was good. Filled out all the paper work and was told to inter the room and he would be in shortly. I got undress which was everything as that was what I always did else where. I got under the covers and he came in. He was the best I had ever had. But before the massage was over all the covers were gone. Me being a male to I did not think to much about it. He had me out of it with his hands and was so worked up that at the end of the massage he did a happy ending that I did not asked for in any way. Did not know what to do or say. I paid him and left feeling kinda bad. Have not been back and will be back with my reg guy.

Last night, a male masseuse from a reputable national chain, got a little too liberal around my buttocks and upper thigh. I felt like he was trying to get his fingers inside my panties (which I still had on) and into my... well you know.

Yes I have, at a reputable place, and absolutely had no idea how to handle it or whether what he was doing was 'over the boundry line' and wasn't sure what to say. Very uncomfortable. I won't be getting a massage any time soon.

I've never had anything that even bordered on inappropriate. How weird! My current therapist is extremely professional, courteous, and caring (without any trace of creepiness).

The only inappropriate touching I've ever had during a massage was before my current bf was my bf and that's how we segued into a relationship.

Only when my ex and I did an instructional couples massage at the spa. The masseuse left so we could have some "practice time"... let's just say we didn't practice the massage techniques.

oh yah and due to a lower back injury, he does my buttocks and legs, so it could go into questionnable territory, for some, i guess, but it's all professional and proper...he isn't doing anything skeevy

I went to this one spa that my sister referred me to. We had the same service but my service including a massage that was very close to my buttocks. She had the same guy and she said he didn't go that far with her but he surely touched my bottom and I felt weird afterwards. That was my first and last visit.

Yes and it was my very first one. The guy squeezed my nipples and told me it increased the pleasure of the massage and that although it feels funny, it's totally normal. I was 17 and looking back I felt like such a moron. I should have known better.

Physically I have never had anyone touch me inappropriately; however one guy I was going to at my chiropractor would comment on my body, like "Oh you have such nice legs" and it made me feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. But I go to another guy now and he is very professional and appropriate!

I had a massage therapist come to my house every Wednesday for several years. Eventually she started getting too relaxed and would lean on me towards the end of the session (she did my parents sibling and myself-I could understand the fatigue-but still). One time in particular she was tucking the towel into my underwear, I felt she pulled them down too far. I went to pull them up a bit and she tickled (I can't think of a better word for it) my eh hem crevasse. WTF?

yes, and I did not know how to react. It was at a Five start hotel in Miami, not the place you would expect.
